Reliable wifi in the cottages and homestays means Maui is one of our top workcation destinations, offering the laidback, low-key lifestyle that most remote workers are craving.

For your workcation in Maui, Origin knows the best places to stay with reliable internet that deliver incredible views: whether that's of the mountains, jungle, or ocean. The temperatures are balmy year-round, and the north shore gets plenty of sunshine with the occasional rain, followed by breathtaking rainbows.

The North Shore

Maui is low-key, with lots of little towns and villages where you can find organic grocers, awesome boutique stores, hippie-inspired apothecaries, sushi bars, small restaurants, and coffee shops. In Haiku, there's a large rusty warehouse that's home to several woodworking craftsmen and surf shapers, with a great place next door for coffee and pastries. It's less crowded on this side of the island too; much greener, more waves, and as local as you can get.

Exploring Maui

Living in Maui means a lot of fresh air and time outside. Windsurf or kitesurf when the trade winds are blowing; then surf, SUP, or boogie board at Ho'okipa, the famous surf spot with the most reliable swells. Run, hike or bike the windy trails in the Makawao Forest Reserve or hit a yoga class in one of the many studios on the island. Go scuba diving, or join a whale watching tour – humpback whales visit the islands till around May. Whatever you choose, this workcation location is as aloha as you can get.
