In June, expect temperatures in the high 80s to low 90s with extremely low humidity. Zion is higher in elevation and is considered the high mountain dessert, so the UV rays are much more intense. Sunscreen is a great idea for outdoor recreating through your summer months.

Mid-mornings and evenings are cooler and pleasant, making it a great time to hike or visit certain areas of the park.

For shoes, please note that traction is very important. Slick, worn out gym shoes or similar style shoes are inadequate. Lack of traction will cause you to slip, fall or suffer an injury and may prevent us from going on some of the best trails.

Sitting on the southern border of Zion, Springdale, population 529, is more than just a parking lot for the park. It rests in the shadow of the towering red, white and pink striped cliffs that define Southern Utah, essentially an incorporated annex of the park proper, giving you incredible views right from the main drag, aptly named Zion Park Blvd. It’s got plenty of entertainment for those not quite ready to renounce civilization altogether, and lots of outdoor retailers for those who are.

Make the drive to Bryce National Park and enjoy walking along the rim of the infamous Hoodoo Valley.

Take the scenic drive and make stops along the way, learning about the history and creation of this spectacular park, or head down into the canyon for a strenuous but rewarding hike.

Bryce Canyon Option:

• Navajo Loop: This relatively short, but steep hike is full of beauty. Starting from Sunset Point, we descend through the narrow corridors of Wall Street until we reach the two towering ponderosa pines above the Silent City. We then ascend back to the top passing the notable features of Two Bridges and Thor’s Hammer.
  
• Rim Trail: This easy and relatively flat trail circles the entire Bryce Canyon amphitheater. We will enjoy many different perspectives overlooking the entire canyon.
  
• Peekaboo Loop: This loop trail located deep in the heart of Bryce can only be accessed by interconnecting either the Bryce Point or Queen’s Garden trails. It is well worth the extra effort as it hides some of the grandest features in Bryce. As we round every corner and climb every rise, a new perspective is open to view and you are left to gaze on these incredible formations.
  
• Queen’s Garden: Another treasured trail here, we descend and weave our way through the hoodoo’s and pines until we reach the Queen’s Garden, named after Queen Victoria and a hoodoo that matches her silhouette.
  
• Canyon road viewpoints: Once your past the main canyon, there are other areas that are worth the extra time to drive and overlook including Piracy Point, Natural Bridge, Yovimpa Point and Rainbow Point.
  
• Mossy Cave: This short trail gives you a sample of the beauty of Bryce Canyon. It meanders over a beautiful river and to the base of a rare red rock waterfall. After viewing the waterfall from below, we will ascend to the top and follow the stream for a bit enjoying the views.

• Snow Canyon: In any other place, Snow Canyon would be a national park. Lava beds mixed with towering cliffs and rolling buttresses of pink, orange and white make for spectacular scenery. We will hike along the rim and on top of the sandstone buttes for a perfect view.

• Yant Flat and Candy Cliffs: Bright stripes of red stretch across a wild rocky plateau of yellow hoodoos, beehives, and towers – all of which is perched on top of a massive cliff with cascading views down to Cottonwood Canyon. Across this chasm, jagged peaks form a serrated ridge of Navajo sandstone. Vistas continue to Sand Hollow Reservoir in the distance, with its turquoise waters sparkling in the sun. Hidden petroglyphs carved by the ancient Native Americans known as the Ancestral Puebloans are waiting to be discovered.

*Please arrive 30 minutes before your reserved time. Every person driving the equipment must be present at check-out. We are not responsible for the time it takes to check-out the rental equipment and your time will not be extended if you do not arrive early enough to allow proper time for the check-out procedure. The State Park Front gate can have a long line and may delay your arrival time. Please plan accordingly. If the State Park is at Full Capacity, show the front gate this booking reservation to be let in. We often experience a long line of customers at our office, especially towards the middle of the day and on weekends. We will have a full check-out procedure when you arrive to rent the equipment including going over the rules, instructions, and showing you the equipment controls.

*Life jackets are included.

*Parking: You will need to pay the entrance fee to enter the State Park. We are located in the south west corner of the lake. After you enter the front gate, take your first right and we are 1 mile down the road. Check in at the front desk inside the Sand Hollow Rentals building.

*Boat and Sea-Doo boundaries: The watercraft are equipped with a GPS tracking device which will not allow the machine to leave the pre-defined geo-fence boundary area. It will also limit your machine if you are within 150ft of another one of our vessels.

*Gas and tax is extra. We will refuel the equipment upon return and charge you for the fuel you used.

*When picking up the rental equipment, please bring a driver's license and a credit card. We will place a "hold" on the credit card for the full estimated rental amount plus an additional amount for the security deposit per vehicle.

*Boats: Must be 18 or older with a driver's license to drive. The 20' Pontoon Boat has a capacity of 10 persons or 1,600 lbs. The boats come with life jackets and orange flag. Additional items such as wakeboards and pull-tubes are available to rent at the time of your rental.
