Day 2: Port Angeles

Today, embark on a scenic drive to the Hoh Rainforest, exploring some of the nature trails before enjoying beach views.

The Hoh Rainforest is a mesmerizing natural wonder located within Olympic National Park. Famous for its lush, old-growth temperate rainforest, it boasts towering moss-draped trees, vibrant green ferns, and a rich ecosystem of unique plant and animal species. Visitors can explore a network of well-maintained hiking trails, such as the Hall of Mosses Trail, to immerse themselves in the enchanting beauty of this pristine rainforest and experience its serene, otherworldly atmosphere.

Beaches of Kalaloch

Scenic ocean shores abound just 15 miles south of the Upper Hoh Road on Hwy 101. Enjoy pebble beach with dramatic surf, tidal pools and watch as locals catch the popular smelt fish.

Make a stop at picturesque Ruby Beach with a meandering creek, dramatic sea stacks, and drift logs is named for its sometimes garnet-colored sand. Take in the incredible views of this stunning part of the park.

Day 3: Mount Olympia National Park

Today enjoy the magic of a guided hike in the Pacific Northwest, complete with an afternoon kayaking excursion!

Hurricane Hill is one of the most bang-for-your-buck hikes and one of the most unmissable stops you need to add to your Olympic National Park itinerary. The trail will lead you along its ridge, with jaw-dropping views of the Bailey Range of the Olympic Mountains in every direction that will have you singing the Sound of Music soundtrack.

Along the path, you’ll have opportunities to see technicolor wildflowers (if you’re visiting in the summer); abundant furry friends, like mountain goats or blacktail deer; and, on a clear day, views all the way to the beautiful Vancouver Island, Canada.

Kayaking Lake Crescent

Explore the largest, deepest, and most beautiful lake within Olympic National Park. At 12 miles long, 620 feet deep and surrounded by towering mountains, this glacially carved lake takes on an intense blue hue thanks to the crystal-clear water. Keep an eye out for bald eagles, among a variety of other birds in the area. Blacktail deer are often spotted grazing along the shoreline and rough-skinned newts swim up from the lakebed for a breath of air. To round out the trip, you'll stop at Devil's Punch Bowl, a deep pool of brilliant blue water tucked into the surrounding cliffs.

Day 4: Olympia and Mount Rainer

Today, a road trip was taken to Mount Rainier, with a few stops along the way.

Hama Hama Oyster Company is a sixth generation family-run shellfish farm on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Their beds are located at the mouth of one of the shortest, coldest, and least developed rivers in Washington State, and that purity is reflected in the clean, crisp flavor of the oysters downstream.

Stop in at the farm store to purchase some oysters and shuck them yourselves, or enjoy a divine lunch at the saloon.

After some oysters, make your way to Olympia, stopping for views of the state capital building and a stroll around heritage park with a coffee.

Set out with your guide and choose from a number of fantastic hikes. Enjoy a peaceful hike on a gently rolling 3-mile loop path that will give you sample views of wildflowers, forest cover, alpine lakes, and local wildlife. Pause and take time capturing the spectacular cliff-edge views of Lake Louise from Faraway Rock.

Spend the day in Paradise

Paradise definitely lives up to its name. This is one of the most beautiful areas of Mount Rainier National Park.

During the summer months, the fields on the slopes of Mount Rainier are covered with wildflowers. The waterfalls are gushing from the snow melt, the weather is warm, and the views are gorgeous.

Take your pick from numerous hiking trails that lead higher onto Mount Rainier. The shorter, easier trails take you up to nice viewpoints of the mountain, and these include the Alta Vista Trail (1.7 miles) and the Nisqually Vista Trail (1.2 miles).

For the best experience, hike the Skyline Trail to Panorama Point, one of the best hikes in Mount Rainier National Park.

After a day of enjoying some fantastic hiking and views, head back to your accommodation where a chef is waiting to prepare an exceptional meal.
