As the Hawaiian winter ends, temperatures start to get even warmer, days are getting longer with 9 hours of sunshine a day, and it starts to rain less in Maui. Expect daytime highs in the low 80s F and nights with lows of 68°F. The water temperature rises to a warm 77°F, and there is nothing in the way of a beautiful beach vacation in April on Maui. Tropical showers become even more unlikely, and if they happen, they are very localized and do not last long (half an hour). The trade winds have become weaker, and the waves are lower, so there are fewer surfers around and fewer visitors in general.

Go ahead and live like a local at these two very cool spots. Secret Cove is a really beautiful, hidden little pocket of sand that's actually not so secret anymore. However, if you get there bright and early in the morning, before anyone else has had a chance to leave fresh footprints in the sand, it will FEEL secret... if only for a little while!
After some nice photos, head to a large beach for some fun in the sun, body surfing, and finishing up those tan lines!
