Today, take a trip to Alcatraz Island by ferry to visit the infamous prison on a self-guided audio tour. After collecting your tickets, begin your journey with a short ferry ride to the island. Once on the island, you can stay as long as you like, though most spend a couple of hours on the island enjoying the Cellhouse Audio Tour, reading the exhibits, and exploring the Island.

Rangers will be stationed throughout to answer questions. Ferries return frequently. You can take any boat back after you've had time to experience what life was like as a prisoner on "The Rock."
