Summer is the most popular time to visit Jackson Hole. Average high temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s and fairly low precipitation levels make for ideal hiking, biking and rafting conditions. Plus, both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park are fully open, offering great day trip opportunities.

Dress in Layers

  • Morning and evenings are cool, while the days start to warm up. Dressing in layers is a great way to handle some of the longer tours without having to make a wardrobe change. Start with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, and layer longer sleeves over them in the morning and evenings.

Morning Wildlife Adventure

Depart before sunrise for wildlife viewing in Grand Teton National Park. Spend the morning out with your expert naturalist guide who is an excellent spotter and will treat you to the highlights and off the beaten path gems of Grand Teton. Elk, moose, mule deer, pronghorn, bison, bighorn sheep, grizzly and black bear, and wolves can all be seen within the park boundaries. Grand Teton National Park is also a spring and summer birders paradise. You will have opportunity to see bald and golden eagles, sandhill cranes, osprey, hawks, and owls. A packed breakfast will be provided for today's excursion.

Return to your accommodations late morning and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

This morning, head out on the Snake River for a 14-mile scenic float. Your private raft will be launched from an exclusive boat ramp on the private Snake River Ranch. With the majestic Tetons as your backdrop kickback and relax while your guide rows you down the river looking for wildlife along the way.

Day 5: Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park

Today, you will travel into the interior of Yellowstone National Park with your expert naturalist guide to experience the iconic geothermal wonders that led to the conservation of this land including the famed Old Faithful geyser. A packed breakfast and picnic lunch will be provided.

Get out and explore geyser basins on foot and take in the wonders of hot springs, fumaroles and mud pots. Continue to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone with its impressive waterfalls before traveling onwards through the Hayden Valley and along the shores of Yellowstone Lake, the largest high elevation lake in North America.

Return to your accommodations in the early evening after a long and rewarding day exploring America’s first national park.
