Day 1: Arrive in Bangkok

Welcome to Thailand! Today is all about settling in and getting some rest before your honeymoon begins!

🛄
Fast Track Arrival

Upon arrival at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport as soon as you disembark, an airport representative will meet you at the end of the jet bridge, holding a signboard with your names on it.

Accompany the representative to the exclusive fast lane immigration counter where the airport representative will assist you with all immigration and customs documentation.

🚗
Private Transfer to Hotel

After clearing immigration, a representative will escort you to the baggage claim to collect your luggage and lead you through arrivals to meet your guide, followed by a transfer to the hotel.

At first glance, Bangkok seems like a city of mismatches. Modern skyscrapers loom over centuries-old temples and street vendors serve up spicy noodles across from Michelin-star restaurants, but it’s exactly these incongruencies that give Bangkok its universal appeal, luring everyone from student backpackers to elite travelers. Once you’ve acclimated to the heat—both in the air and on your plate—you won’t be able to get enough of the city’s piquant energy.

🚲
Bike Ride in the Countryside

Take a leisurely bike ride through Chiang Mai and its surroundings. During this 5-6 hour adventure, you'll stop often to visit local neighborhoods, see lesser known sites and gain insight into the life of the Thai people.

The route takes us on quiet and green land roads, passing the historic settlement Wiang Kum Kam, founded in 1286 by a King. It was the capital of the Lanna empire for a period of only 10 years. Continue by bike to a former leper colony, once cut off from the outside world. Nowadays it is a rehabilitation centre for people with many kinds of physical disabilities.

Next up is a small pottery workshop, we watch the craftsmen make different shapes of pottery by hand. We stop at a local bakery where we have a delicious sweet bun while watching them produce many other different products. At the market, we see the same baked goods as well as other local snacks. Here you have the opportunity to sample some of the most delicious and exotic fruits as well.

After your cycling adventure, return to the hotel for a chance to freshen up before continuing your exploration of Chiang Mai.

🛕
Chiang Mai Old Town & Doi Suthep

Join your guide and head out to explore historic Chiang Mai this afternoon.

First up is a visit to a vibrant food and flower market where locals do their shopping. Continue to the western side of town to visit Wat Suan Dok, final resting place for the ashes of former kings of Chiang Mai and the Royal Family.

Then drive for about 30 minutes to Doi Suthep Mountain, enjoying the spectacular views of Northern Thailand as you head past mountains and forests, towards one of Northern Thailand’s most sacred temples. Founded in 1383 AD, the temple is reached by climbing 309 steps (or for the less fitness-minded, a tram is available). The climb up is rewarded with a superb panoramic view over the city.

Return to Chiang Mai and enjoy a 20-minute rickshaw ride through the quiet streets of the old town before returning to your hotel.
