In May & June, while the weather may be wetter during this time, it also brings lush green landscapes, blooming flowers, and fewer crowds, making it an excellent time to explore popular destinations. Additionally, the occasional rain showers provide relief from the heat, and the tropical scenery is at its most vibrant, offering a unique and refreshing experience for visitors.
U.S. citizens traveling to Thailand for tourism purposes can enter the country without a visa for stays of up to 30 days.
The national currency of Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB). ATMs are ubiquitous, although some may have limits on the amount you can withdraw in one day. You should check with your bank that your card will work abroad. Note that whilst hotels, major stores & high-end restaurants will take cards, it’s still very much a cash society. We also suggest traveling with some USD which you can change in an emergency from one of the many currency exchange vendors.
To help you with tipping etiquette in Thailand, we have put together this handy guide:
- Guides and Drivers: The general guideline would be a certain amount for each day you were hosted by the guide. For the driver, a certain amount for each day they provided service. Tipping here is very much an extra sign of appreciation for exceptional service, so feel free to give what you think is fair.
- Restaurants: If you are dining at a simple street-side stand or food shop, you generally don’t tip. If you are at a casual sit-down restaurant, 10% will do it. If you are eating at an upper-market establishment check the bill as a 10% service charge is often added. Leaving extra is up to you, but you don’t need to leave a lot. Think of it as a generous rounding up if you were impressed with the service.
- Hotels: If you’re pleased with the cleanliness of your room and the maid service, leave a certain amount per day on the bedside table. For bellboys, a certain amount is a fair starting point, though again it’s up to your discretion and can be more.
Kindly note that for your domestic flights booked by Scenset, the checked baggage allowance is 20 kilograms (44 pounds) per person.

You are scheduled to land in Doha in the afternoon. Follow the transit instructions, and connect to your flight to Bangkok, which is scheduled to depart in the evening.
On arrival in Bangkok, you will have Fast Track service to expedite your arrival. An airport representative will meet you at the aircraft bridge with a welcome signboard to accompany you through immigration and baggage claim to the Arrivals Hall.
The representative will introduce you to your driver, who will take you to the hotel.

Bangkok claims to be the city that never stops eating. People in Bangkok usually find themselves enjoying eating even at midnight. So, what would be a better idea than to explore the city of angels and visit the best local eateries after sunset? Once the moon has risen, visit the local favorite places to eat. Taste a variety of savory menus, including the local favorite “Kao Mun Kai” (Hainanese chicken rice) at Pratunam Area, and the town’s best Pad Thai Noodles at Pratuphi Area. Then visit old-town landmarks and temples for a different perspective, to observe the sheer beauty of age-old buildings lit up at night. Discover the side of Bangkok that is totally unknown to visitors. Finish the evening with a cocktail at a rooftop bar, before returning to your hotel.

Bangkok Today's tour will introduce you to the dazzling city of Bangkok and its many forms of transportation. Move through the city like a local, traveling by foot, boat, tuk-tuk, and Sky Train. This is an innovative approach to urban exploration avoiding Bangkok's notorious traffic jams and providing a liberating way to see the city. Highlights include The Erawan Shrine & Central Business District, climbing the Golden Mount at Wat Saket, Wat Pho & Reclining Buddha, and a private boat ride in the canals.

Located just 9 miles from Chiang Mai is Wat Phra That on Doi Suthep Mountain. Set amidst a beautifully forested mountain setting, Wat Phra That is considered one of Northern Thailand’s most sacred temples. Founded in 1383 AD, Wat Phra That is reached by climbing 309 steps or if you prefer a funicular is available. Inside the temple compounds, explore the pagodas, statues, bells, and shrines and notice how elements of the temple draw from both Buddhism and Hinduism. Enjoy the superb panoramic view of the city.
Next, head to the magical temple of tunnels - Wat Umong, and wander the labyrinthine paths to discover Buddha heads, relics, altars and
monk cells.

Note: This is a shared experience, and there will likely be other guests taking the transfer with you. This is why we have given a 30 minute window for the transfer.
Head to an ethical elephant camp, where you can hear the personal stories of the rescued and orphaned elephants that you meet. See how they became free from abuse for the first time in their lives, and are free to socialize, play, and toss dirt on their backs as they please. Take part in feeding fruit to these magnificent creatures before enjoying your own vegetarian buffet meal. Enjoy Roaming, feeding, and bathing with the elephant.

Tonight, or any night during your stay, take a short walk to the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. This is a sprawling assortment of food stalls, souvenir stands, and restaurants. There are also stands for foot massages (both by human and fish). Suggested experience, not included

Upon conclusion of your cooking class you will be met by your guide, who will show you Chiang Mai City this afternoon.
Some of the iconic temples & shrines include Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Chiang Man. You will get to learn about the history and Lanna culture associated with the city.
