Journey to Tanzania to experience a safari camp that's all about conserving local wildlife and driving female empowerment.
Set in the heart of the Serengeti, Dunia Camp is an incredible place to spot big cats, elephants, and elusive packs of wild dogs. Alongside the chance to see these incredible animals in their natural habitats, this place also boasts something extra – it's the only safari property in Africa run entirely by women.
From the manager and guides to the camp porters, security guards, and chefs, it's clear how passionate the team at Dunia is about encouraging more women to pursue roles in a predominantly male sector. In a country where gender inequality issues are very apparent and opportunities for women in professions are slim, this camp shows how things can, and are, changing.
When you arrive at Dunia Camp, the energy from the team of women who run this high-end safari camp is palpable, as they dance and sing to welcome guests to their wilderness home.
This semi-permanent camp is made up of 8 spacious safari-style tents and is led by a 24 member crew. It's also constructed on a site specifically chosen for its brilliant migration views, while also being a little more removed from the busier areas of the park to make sure you're fully immersed in the surrounding nature.
Guides run game drives twice a day, and each suite has its own private veranda with panoramic views across the Serengeti that you'll never tire of. Each tent also has an en suite bathroom with flushing toilets and traditional safari bucket showers.
Let us know and we'll start planning your adventure to the Serengeti.
