To be booked independently
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, receive a private transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport to a lodge in Arusha for check-in.
Arusha is located at the foothills of Mount Meru on the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley. This is the gateway to the northern safari circuit, with easy access to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Mount Meru. Its elevation of 1,400 m (4,600 ft) keeps temperatures relatively cool despite proximity to the equator; temperatures generally range between 10 and 30 C (50 and 86F), with little humidity due to the altitude.
Most Tanzania safaris either start or end in the gateway city of Arusha, and there are few better options to bookend your trip than the Legendary Lodge. Guided nature walks and tours of the surrounding coffee plantation hype guests up before their safari, while a restorative massage at the spa or an afternoon nap in your private cottage is the perfect way to wind down afterward.
Depart on your scheduled flight from Arusha Airstrip to the Sasakwa Airstrip.
The Serengeti is perhaps the most famous African wilderness area, its name synonymous with the notion of safari for nearly a hundred years. This UNESCO World Heritage site covers 14,750 km2 (5,700 mi2) of premiere game viewing in Acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and undulating savannah interspersed with seasonal rivers. The park on the northern side borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya and, together with several other smaller reserves and conservation areas, forms the larger Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. Stretching all the way to Lake Victoria, the Western Corridor is characterized by the quintessential safari landscape — open plains dotted with the occasional tree, although there are also beautiful riverine woodlands and some thicker bush areas. There is a good population of cats and general game all year round.
Mila Tented Camp is perched above a collection of five natural springs on a ridge of granite kopjes and set amongst an acacia woodland in a remote and sought-after region of western Serengeti. With five tented rooms and a two-bedroomed family tent, Mila Tented Camp draws inspiration from the Hadzabe, who are known for their honey. This is reflected in the natural linens, textiles, and color which blend into the environment and welcome travelers to soak up the beautiful surroundings, both inside and out.
Tented Family Suite
Inclusions:
Enjoy today at leisure exploring the wildlife reserve, relaxing at the lodge, and experiencing the Serengeti.
Twice-daily game drives from the lodge often encounter large lion prides and clans of hyena, big herds of resident plains game as well as the special black-and-white colobus monkeys, found nowhere else in the scenset. Rarely seeing other vehicles makes for an exceptional game viewing experience.
At the lodge, enjoy convivial afternoons and evenings around the bar, a masterpiece of woven fabrics. For those looking for an active workout, head to the gym, or if you feel like a pamper session, surrender to an in-room massage.
Depart on your scheduled flight from Sasakwa Airstrip to Grumeti Airstrip.
Singita Grumeti, situated adjacent to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, is an integral part of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, the home of the Great Migration. The reserve was created by the Tanzanian government in 1994 in order to protect the path of the annual wildebeest migration and the indigenous biodiversity of this vast, important ecosystem. In 2002, the Grumeti Community and Wildlife Conservation Fund (now known as the Grumeti Fund), a not-for-profit organisation, was granted the right to manage and conserve the 350,000 acres.
Located within Singita’s 350,000-acre private reserve in northern Tanzania, Faru Faru embodies a fresh take on African bush appeal and ushers in a new era of luxury wilderness safaris. Set in front of a busy waterhole alongside the Grumeti River in the heart of the Serengeti, Singita Faru Faru Lodge invites continuous connections with its breathtaking surrounds. A relaxed approach to luxury forms a golden thread throughout this contemporary African lodge and allows guests to experience the deeply restorative power of nature.
Décor & design includes airy bedroom suites, where every creature comfort is catered for with intuitive ease and oversized windows welcome the wilderness inside. Vast outdoor decks and multiple airy enclaves allow for intimate dining and drinks, while the café-style bar at the heart of the lodge hums with a subtle sparkle – spilling over to the pool area and firepit, and making for magical evenings under starlit skies.
One Family Suite
Singita Faru Faru Lodge is a mix of contemporary, organic style and the quirky practicality of a traditional botanist’s camp. A pale-on-pale colour palette is beautifully offset by the soothing hues of winter grasses and pink river clay, while wide, oversized windows open up to welcome the natural surrounds inside. Each suite has air-conditioning, overhead fans, minibar and fridge, tea/coffee station, digital safe, hairdryer, bathroom amenities, direct dial telephone and small game-viewing deck as well as inside bath and outdoor shower.
Inclusions:
Take today to relax in your luxurious accommodations at Singita Faru Faru. Activities here include day and night game drives, guided safari walks, wine experiences, community visits, a swimming pool, anti-poaching observation post visit, a boutique & gallery, a wellness spa & fully equipped fitness center.

Each tailormade exploration with your personal Field Guide celebrates the freedom to spend unfiltered time in wide-open spaces and while no two Singita game drives are ever the same, you are bound to be enchanted by vivid encounters with Africa’s most iconic wildlife.
