Welcome to Zurich
🚂
Train to Zurich

We recommend taking the train from Zurich Airport to Zurich and a taxi to your hotel. If you'd like us to include this transfer from the airport to the hotel on a private basis, there will be an extra cost.

From the high-end designers lining the Bahnhofstrasse to sumptuous Swiss chocolates, Zürich feels luxurious in every sense of the word. And while you’ll be spending money, there’s also a simpler side to the city that’s just as captivating—tranquil boat rides on Lake Zurich, pop-up beer gardens along the river, the panoramic tram ride to the summit of Uetliberg. The quality of life in Zürich is one of the highest in the world, and it isn’t hard to see why.

Enjoy your time at leisure to explore the city on your own.

Zum Kropf is a great spot to get a snapshot of traditional Swiss cuisine

Your Stay: Hotel Storchen

Why we love it for you: The Storchen is the only riverfront hotel in central Zürich, real estate that it’s proudly owned since the 14th century. Despite its age, nothing seems dated after a five-star renovation. The cozy bedrooms have a contemporary panache and views of either the Limmat or the Alps, while even locals come to eat at the Michelin-star restaurant or sip a cocktail at the sophisticated jazz lounge.

Lauterbrunnen

Today, take the train to Lauterbrunnen.

🚂
Train to Lauterbrunnen

Board a morning train to Lauterbrunnen from Zurich via Bern and Interlaken.

🚶‍♂️
Hotel Walk

Arrival at Lauterbrunnen Train Station and walk 5 minutes to your hotel.

During your time in this stunning region of Switzerland, explore the nearby waterfalls and go on hiking trails through the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

🌈
Hike to Trümmelbachfälle

Switzerland is a country of waterfalls, but few are as impressive or unique as the Trümmelbachfälle, a series of 10 glacier falls, inside a mountain and accessible underground by a series of lifts, pathways and tunnels. It feels like a real adventure, surrounded by the thundering subterranean crash of the water as it plunges down from the glacier.

🥾
Walk to Staubbach Falls

With a height of nearly 300 meters, Staubbach Falls is the third highest waterfall in Switzerland. In the summer warm winds swirl the waters around, so that the Falls spray in all directions. These droplets of water spray gave the brook and the waterfall its name.

Your Stay: Hotel Oberland

Why we love it for you: This friendly, family-run hotel enjoys the ideal location in the centre of Lauterbrunnen, only a 5 minute walk from the train station, with epic views of the famous “Staubbach” waterfall. We have a famous restaurant with amazing views from the terrace for al-fresco dining. Their beer garden is very popular and the ideal place for good coffee, local beer or maybe one of their signature Aperol Spritz.

Lake Lucerne
🚗
Transfer

From Lauterbrunnen, private transfer to a hotel in Lake Lucerne (approximately 1.5 hours).

Known to the locals as Vierwaldstättersee, English speakers simply call it Lake Lucerne. Twisting and turning into smaller coves and inlets, from the water you might think you’re cruising through fjords because of the towering mountains around it. But Lucerne is an alpine lake in every sense of the word, with its crystal clear water clean enough to drink and bucolic mountain towns along its picturesque shores.

🏔️
Mount Pilatus

The snowy peaks of Mount Pilatus don’t just beautifully frame the city – they provide an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors just 20 minutes away. The world’s steepest cogwheel railway is an excellent way to take in the alpine scenset – and you can even ride in the driver’s cabin. Alternatively, take a panoramic cable car trip to the top from Kriens. On the mountain itself, a host of activities await year-round, including hiking, climbing and summer tobogganing.

Museum Bellpark

Inside a storybook-worthy house in Lucerne’s leafy suburb of Kriens is Museum Bellpark. It explains the history of Kriens through photos, sketches and drawings – but the biggest draw is the museum’s ever-changing displays of contemporary themes such as architecture, as well as striking Swiss art and photography. It’s also very child-friendly, with playful discovery sessions during the autumn.

🍺
Rathaus Brauerei

The Renaissance-style building of Lucerne’s Rathaus (town hall) also contains a brewery and pub, which produces flavorful beers that vary according to the season. In winter, enjoy a glass of full-bodied, fragrant Rathaus Bock – a strong beer with a hint of banana. An extensive menu of traditional food is also available: try the Weisswürst (spiced white sausage) or Luzerner Käsekuchen (a savory cheese tart).

Your Stay: Bürgenstock Resort

Why we love it for you: Everywhere you turn at Bürgenstock there seems to be floor-to-ceiling windows, outdoor balconies, or a wrap-around pool, which makes sense once you see the views of Lake Lucerne from the mountaintop resort. Famous actors once lived on the property, but a major renovation in 2017 made sure that Bürgenstock’s heyday is nowhere near ending, especially thanks to the opening of one of Europe’s most highly anticipated new spas.
