Madrid in July is hot, with high temperatures often in the 90s. Nights in Madrid are warm as well, where you can comfortably walk around after dark in short sleeves.
U.S. passport holders do not need any special visas for visiting Spain for tourism.
There are currently no COVID-related entry requirements for entering Spain.

The appeal of Spain’s capital city is how laidback it is. Visitors don’t come for the big-name attractions, but for the local lifestyle. Of course, a wine tasting is nothing without a good food pairing, so enjoy some cured meats and cheeses from around Spain and Europe, along with many heartier tapas.

The great painter El Greco made Toledo his home in the 16th century. The visit to Toledo may include the famous Cathedral, Church of St Tome with its famous masterpiece by El Greco; the Synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca; the Museum of Victorio Macho; the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, and more.
