Try on traditional Korean clothing called a Hanbok. Nowadays this outfit is only worn during occasions such as anniversaries or festive days, but all Koreans have a hanbok for these special times. The hanbok is colored using natural dyes and the unique lines of the hanbok appear at their greatest when the wearer is in motion.
Visit Changdeokgung, the secondary residence of the royal family. Changdeokgung, built in 1405 and finished in 1412, is a remarkably peaceful place today. Its gardens are well kept, though not overly manicured, giving it a natural and somewhat wild look.
While at Changdeokgung, visit the palace’s rear garden also known as the Geumwon or “Forbidden Garden.” Constructed during the reign of King Taejong, Biwon served as a resting place for members of the Korean royal family.
From lunch, move on to discover Insa-dong, located in the heart of the city. This neighborhood is an important part of the city where old but precious goods are on display. There is one main road in Insa-dong with alleys on either side. Within these alleys are galleries, traditional restaurants, teahouses, and cafes.
There are about 100 galleries in the area offering every example of traditional Korean fine art from paintings to sculptures. The most famous galleries are Hakgojae Gallery, which functions as the center of folk art, Gana Art Gallery, which promotes many promising artists, and Gana Art Center.
In addition, Insa-dong is also a fantastic spot to discover antique stationery items within the family owned shops featuring traditional crafts and more.
Surrounded by Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Jongmyo Shrine, Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses, called hanok, that date back to the Joseon dynasty. Spend some time here with your guide to step back in time for a glimpse of Korea's bygone era.
The name Bukchon, which literally translates to "northern village," came about as the neighborhood lies north of two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Today, many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse themselves in traditional Korean culture. As Bukchon Hanok Village is an actual neighborhood with people's homes, visitors are advised to be respectful at all times while looking around.
Gwangjang Market was the first permanent market in Korea and continues to thrive as a popular culinary destination today. The name Gwangjang means "to gather from afar and keep altogether." The market began as a small trading center that brought in goods from nearby regions, but has now grown into a large wholesale market selling a variety of goods, including upholstery, imported goods, groceries, dried fish, traditional goods, and more.
Enjoy food tastings as you stroll through the market.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh and venture into the capital's surrounding countryside with a relaxing boat ride to the Islands of the Mekong. During the hour-long trip, you will witness the city transform into the countryside, cruising by traditional fishing families on their houseboats until you reach Koh Oknha Tei.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted with top-of-the-range mountain bikes for a slow-paced 45-minute cycle tour of this beautiful island. Pedaling along flat and small dirt roads, you will pass pagodas, orchards, and market gardens, learning more about local life and the traditional silk weaving industry performed on these islands. After the tour, you will return to the boat for a short trip across the river to a stunning traditional wooden Khmer house – Rotanak Villa.
Here you will be met by a chef, your host for the evening, and passionate cook, food writer and advocate of traditional Khmer recipes and ingredients. The chef has scoured the countryside for traditional recipes on the verge of fading from living memory, and is striving to put Cambodian cuisine on the world map. They had worked for Cambodia Living Arts for eight years, an organisation founded by survivors of the bloody Khmer Rouge regime that has spent the past 20 years working to rekindle the Kingdom's fading cultural arts.
On arrival you can enjoy a drink by the pool, refresh with a swim, or relax in the beautiful private traditional wooden villa and its gardens. You will be served a sumptuous tasting menu as the chef guides you on a culinary journey through the rich history of Cambodia and how people's daily lives is infused into Cambodian cooking. Feel free to relax or head into the open kitchen yourself to see how things are made – a fantastic opportunity to ask questions.
At the end of the evening you will then return to your hotel by a private car.
We would suggest that guests bring something to swim in and a change of clothes for the evening. If you do not wish to cycle then a tuk tuk can be arranged for the tour of the island.

The infamous Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum: This is a former high school that the Khmer Rouge converted to an interrogation centre and prison in 1975 during the genocide. More than 17,000 people were tortured there before being murdered at the killing fields outside of the city. Pol Pot’s brutal attempt to create a society without class resulted in nearly 2 million people dying from execution, starvation, or disease. Today, the country is finally at peace and in the process of recovery.
We then visit the Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom and the Silver Pagoda with a floor of over 5,000 silver tiles. Ending the tour on the lively Riverside area before returning to your hotel.

This evening, hop into one of Thailand’s most iconic modes of transport, the Tuk Tuk, and ride through some of Bangkok’s coolest, and tastiest, neighbourhoods. We’ll kick off with a departure from your hotel by private Tuk Tuk in the late afternoon. Whip through the streets of Bangkok on the way to sample a few popular local dishes and street side snacks.
The first stop will be Bangrak, a trendy district just a short distance from the Chao Phraya River. Spend some time exploring the Bangrak Bazaar and the surrounding streets as your guide introduces you to some more tasty treats.
Chinatown is the next stop on the list, a chaotic community that is well known for its delicious street-side food stalls. The first stop here will be exploring Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road, a highlight of the city famed for the spectacular array of street food hawkers. Finally, we’ll diverge onto Chinatown’s Soi Nana and Maitri Chit Road, home to an eclectic mix of cafes and hip bars. We’ll explore some more unique flavours and street food treats throughout Chinatown before ending the journey with a couple of options.
Families with children may prefer to go and sample some delicious dessert stalls offering freshly made soy milk and sweet dumplings, while adult groups may wish to pay a visit to a trendy hangout (at their own expense). This location offers Thai xylophones and cymbals, Thai tapas and cocktails with names borne from ancient Thai lore. Dine on tapas which is served a-la-carte – we recommend the moo sarong (pork balls wrapped in yellow noodle and fried) and the Khao Kriab wow (rice cracker served with chilli paste). For friskier travellers, try a shot of Ya Dong (Thai moonshine infused with herbs).
The trip will end around 9 pm, but you have the option to hang around. Should you choose to stay later, your guide can give you advice and directions on how to return to the hotel.
Please Note: The above routing is subject to change. We can tailor the routing based on your interests and particular preferences.
