For safari, we recommend layering your clothing. Game drives take place in the early morning and evening and it is quite cold before sunrise and after sunset. Daytime temperatures can be warm and sunny, and it can get quite hot. Light, natural fabrics like cotton and linen are recommended for daytime wear (shorts, t-shirts, summer dresses around the lodge), and in the evenings, layer up with long trousers, long sleeve vests and a warm jacket. Formal wear is not required at any of our lodges – you are free to come straight from a game drive into dinner.

Check-in is one and a half hours prior to departure for domestic flights and three hours prior to departure for international flights.

Some scheduled regional and inter-lodge flights may involve multiple stops before reaching the final destination. Many flights are operated as air shuttle transfers and therefore departure times may vary by up to one hour.

When traveling on normal scheduled international or domestic flights, the luggage limit is usually 20kgs (approx. 44 lbs.) per person.

Tips are always appreciated and enthusiastically received. Tipping is only recommended if you are satisfied with the service you have received and is entirely at your discretion. Tipping guidelines are as follows:

• Restaurants: 10% - 15% of total value of bill depending on service

On Safari: For rangers between per person per day and trackers between per person per day. General lodge staff gratuity is between per day. All tips can be paid over by credit card as opposed to cash

Mauritius is open to everyone, both vaccinated and unvaccinated. No testing is needed before arriving to Mauritius. No testing is needed on arrival. Unvaccinated travelers no longer need to self-isolate on arrival. You do not need to wear a face mask during your holiday. It is only mandatory in airports, during airport transfers and on public transport, plus in all public and private healthcare facilities, including hospitals and pharmacies.

Upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg (JNB), you will be met at the door of your aircraft with a paging board. Should your aircraft be directed to the apron and not the terminal building, you will be transported to the terminal by bus where your Meet and Greet representative will be waiting for you as you step off the bus. You will then be assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs and on to your connecting flight.

A short boat cruise to Robben Island, just over seven km's from Cape Town harbour, you can experience a sense of hopelessness inside the prison cell where South Africa's most beloved legend, Nelson Mandela spent 27 years hard labour. It is difficult to imagine how anyone could rise above the horror of incarceration to become arguably the most iconic and compassionate leader of our era.

An exciting trip up Table Mountain in a cable car provides panoramic views over the "Mother City" and other attractions include the Cultural History Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Greenmarket Square's local crafts markets and the Bo-Kaap's colourful Cape Malay buildings add a sense of authenticity to your trip, and Long Street's vibrant restaurants, bars and clubs come alive after dark.

Perhaps wander around the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, a working harbour and hub of entertainment and shopping opportunities.

Today is about mingling with the locals, exploring seaside villages, secluded beaches, and wild national parks.

A full day of stunning scenery awaits, as we embark on an exploration of the Cape Peninsula. We see the trendy beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay. Continuing along Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, we make our way to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Board the funicular for a trip to the top of the Peninsula for incredible panoramic outlooks over the perceived meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Next up, the naval base of Simon’s Town is a richly historic destination of museums, and home to Boulders Beach, renowned for its African Penguin breeding colony. We take some time to wander along the boardwalks, marveling at the antics of these amusing creatures. Our final stop is Kirstenbosch Gardens, then return to your hotel.

In Franschhoek, enjoy South Africa's greatest export⁠, wine! Today, you'll embark on the Brill Tram Experience. The tour allows you to experience breathtaking mountain views while stopping at as many as eight of the following wine estates. Hop on and off as you experience the wine tasting (payable on site at each estate), cellar tours, picnic lunches in the vineyards and al fresco dining.

Passengers may dine at one of several restaurants on the tour. It is highly recommended that passengers make reservations for lunch/picnic at least 24-48 hours in advance.

Head out for an early morning game drive in open vehicles, stopping for a refreshing coffee break and a chance to listen to the sounds of the bush whilst admiring the landscape. After some down-time and a siesta back at camp, set off again in the late afternoon when the bush comes alive. Sundowners as night falls, then spotlights come out in search of a new range of creatures. For those needing to expend some energy, a guided walking safari is an ideal way to learn about smaller animals and plants.

Say good-bye to Singita as you will be transferred by private driver to the MQP airport for your onward flights to Mauritius.

Singita will take you from the lodge to the Newington Gate (the exact time will be advised at dinner the previous night by the lodge).
