However you perceive it, you’ll already be feeling wistful saudade for your next trip to Portugal before boarding your flight back home.
In March, Lisbon and the Algarve region typically experience mild and pleasant weather as winter transitions into spring. In Lisbon, temperatures range from around 50°F to 64°F with occasional rainfall, though the days tend to be gradually warming up. The Algarve, located further south, enjoys slightly warmer temperatures averaging between 52°F to 66°F, with longer daylight hours and lower chances of rainfall compared to the earlier months.
It's a great time to explore both destinations as the tourist crowds are still relatively low, allowing for enjoyable sightseeing and outdoor activities along the stunning coastline and historical landmarks.
U.S. passport holders do not need any special visa to enter Portugal for tourism purposes.
