Family Trip to Portugal & London

Saudade is a uniquely Portuguese word to describe a deep longing for something. It’s a sensation with no easy translation, but you can hear it in the soulful voice of a fado musician, detect it in the vibrant colors of mosaics, or even savor it in a glass of sweet port wine. However you perceive it, you’ll already be feeling wistful saudade for your next trip to Portugal before boarding your flight back home.

We especially recommend it for lunch, to enjoy the panoramic ocean views and combine it with a walk alongside the golden coastline, and a venture to the awarded Camilo beach – the scarlet prawns carabineiros, and the grilled local sole are favorites there. Restaurant Recommendations

While in London, a few of our favorite recommendations around Mayfair are:

  • Socca is a place of nostalgic French-Mediterranean culinary traditions by a Michelin-starred chef; where memories are curated amidst playful murals and handpicked artistry.
  • Mount St. Restaurant is a modern London restaurant serving traditional British fare, located on the first floor of the iconic Mayfair landmark - The Audley. Bringing together food and drink, craftsmanship and culture set against the backdrop of extraordinary, specially commissioned, site-specific art.
  • The Twenty-Two, situated inside a hotel within a storied Edwardian manor on Grosvenor Square, is a neighborhood restaurant bringing a Mediterranean flourish to modern British fare. The Beef Wellington is particularly good.
  • Scott’s is a modern-day classic for seafood enjoyers. A fabulous restaurant situated on Mount Street with a menu that reflects its refined and traditional atmosphere. A variety of fish, meat and shellfish with seasonal game favourites with a champagne bar.
  • LPM, or La Petite Maison, in Mayfair offers French, Mediterranean cuisine; based on its Nice scenset, wonderful lively atmosphere.
  • 34 Mayfair is an elegant art-deco restaurant prized for its Argentinian Grill, serving British Game and world-meats.
  • Wilton's is a bastion of Britishness, serving fine dining classics including game, seafood, and an oyster bar.
  • Noble Rot Mayfair is located in the atmospheric alleys of Shepherd Market built on the site of the late 1600s' original May Fair which became notorious as Central London's rackety red-light district. Hidden away from Mayfair's more plutocrat-infested byways, it's still something of a London secret – and the perfect home for the Rotters' new den. They also know their wine!
  • Big Momma's Jacuzzi comes from the masterminds behind Circolo Polpare, Gloria, Carlotta and Ave Mario. Jacuzzi opened at the start of 2023 and like all the Big Mama offspring - it’s been spamming the Instagram feed of Londoners ever since (in a good way, of course). It's colorful, fun and the food is good! It's a little further afield in Kensington, but not too far.

These are recommendations only - let us know if you'd like us to make any reservations for you.

This entire trip has been leading up to this moment: experiencing the Eras Tour at the legendary Wembley Stadium.

To reach the stadium, you can call a taxi from your hotel, with the drive taking around 35-60 minutes, depending on traffic. Please speak to your concierge for advice on traffic times.

However, with traffic likely to be heavy, a more convenient option is the London Underground. It's just a 12-minute walk to Green Park Station, where you can catch the Jubilee Line directly to Wembley Park. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the stadium.
