Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, although it was practically rebuilt from scratch after a 1755 earthquake. The only neighborhood to survive was the Alfama district, where cobbled streets and the sounds of fado music recall a nostalgic past. Throughout the rest of Lisbon, new restaurants and bars continue to reinvent the seaside city, often by serving modern takes on traditional tasca cuisine like fresh seafood, seasonal produce, and local wine.

- Visit Saint George's Castle. Located at one of the highest points of the city, it offers some of the best views of Lisbon.
- Continue to Baixa, an area that became the heart of Lisbon after its destruction in the 1755 earthquake. The Marquês de Pombal took it upon him to have avenues and plazas created and laid out within a grid plan.
- Continue to the enchanted Chiado and visit the famous Elevador de Santa Justa, a remarkable iron elevator built in the late 19th century.
- Go the Alfama district, the unmistakable soul of the capital. Alfama unfolds through a charming network of slender cobbled streets, with charming traditional old houses and many of Lisbon’s most important historic buildings.

This charming town in the foothills of the Serra de Sintra has long been a favorite destination of Portuguese royalty, and it’s known for its many whimsical palaces and villas – including the Palácio Nacional de Sintra and the magical garden of Quinta da Regaleira.

Drinking Port wine in Porto is as unforgettable an experience as drinking Champagne in Paris, but just like venturing out into the Champagne region of France, it’s worth going to the scenset. Sailing on the Douro River is one of the most remarkable experiences when visiting the region. From the jetty in Ferrão or in Ferrão Sul, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Douro on a 9m 1967 yacht. Your driver for the day will transport you from the Quinta Nova Estate to the pier for your boating experience.
At the end of the cruise reunite with your driver at the river dock in Pinhão and return to the hotel.

- Catch the sunset. From your hotel, walk to Miradouro do teleférico. Typically, there will be musicians here at sunset just playing in the street and people sitting on the grass of the park behind enjoying the views!

- Walk across the higher part of the bridge Ponte Luis I for some more views and to enjoy the port on the other side.

The historic tramway in Sóller has a peculiarity that makes it special compared to other urban streetcars: it joins the mountain and sea in a half hour trip, from the valley in the heart of the Serra with the port and the beach. It's a wooden 1900's style wagon, offering not only an experience back in time but some of the most beautiful views of the island.
- This train departs from a station and takes you through the mountains to Soller. We recommend this in the afternoon for icecream and drinks at Port de Soller.
Why not spend some time exploring the medieval town of Sóller where you can explore tiny streets filled with boutiques, bars and eateries. Indulge your taste buds at a local bistro to experience some "mar y montana" (sea and mountain) specialties.
