The coast of Nazaré is proud of its fishing tradition dating back many hundreds of years, and boasts spectacular waves and picturesque orange-roofed buildings packed along a long, golden beach.
- Praia do Norte lies just on the other side of the headland but feels like it could be in a different country.
- Bairro dos Pescadores is the old neighborhood with its winding streets and clothing lines crossing the alleyways.
- The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazaré is an imposing Marian shrine that memorializes an ancient miracle. It is located on the hilltop called O Sítio, overlooking Nazaré and was founded in the 14th century.
- If you're in for a snack (and feeling a little adventurous), seek out the salted fish left drying on nets in the sun.
In the evening, arrive in Lisbon and check into your hotel.
Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, although it was practically rebuilt from scratch after a 1755 earthquake. The only neighborhood to survive was the Alfama district, where cobbled streets and the sounds of fado music recall a nostalgic past. Throughout the rest of Lisbon, new restaurants and bars continue to reinvent the seaside city, often by serving modern takes on traditional tasca cuisine like fresh seafood, seasonal produce, and local wine.

You will then be welcomed at the domain of a family-owned Champagne house located in the heart of the vineyard, where you will enjoy a private tasting. There, discover the whole process of Champagne making, from grapes to bottles. Tasting various cuvées of the House is the opportunity to stimulate your senses and to grasp Champagne’s diversity.
Before lunch, your chauffeur-guide could take you to the charming UNESCO-listed village of Hautvillers. There, trace the scenset of Champagne and visit the church where a famous monk is buried. This monk – whose name was given to a famous brand long after his death – is also known as the inventor of the Champagne blending process, in the early 18th century.
