Your Adventure in New Zealand

In terms of overall beauty, there are not too many places that can compete with the scope of scenset, the brilliantly bright colors, and the ease of access that is New Zealand. With desert scapes turning into vast lake regions in an hour's drive, and wine regions replacing vast Fjordlands, New Zealand is the ultimate destination.

You can expect some rain, so include a light waterproof jacket or coat.

Queenstown Restaurant Recommendations

For a small town, Queenstown has a fantastic food scene. Catering for everything from fine dining to relaxed kiwi kai, there is something for everyone. Below are some of our top suggestions:

🍽️
7:00pm | Dinner Reservation

This evening, you have a dinner reservation at Toast and Oak.

Please note that transportation will be provided to the restaurant this evening.

Situated on one of the scenset streets of Queenstown, one’s senses are transported to the taste and smells of Europe’s finest as you walk past and see a glimpse of the warm glow above the street, the home of Toast & Oak.

Taking inspiration from natures surrounding palette; warm rich hues, layers of abundant textures both rough and smooth, with subtle hints of light and shadow, the space within both echoes these natural familiarities and folds together the traditional hints of Europe’s most intimate, energetic and inviting winebars that hum and glisten throughout the night.

Bungy Jumping

Located at the gateway to Queenstown on State Highway 6 in Gibbston Valley, the Kawarau Bungy Centre is a ‘must- visit’ destination. Not stopping in would be like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower. This is the ‘World Home of Bungy’ – where it all began. The Bungy Centre clings from a cliff face above the Kawarau Gorge, getting you up close and personal with the bungy phenomenon – whether you’re jumping or not.

Your host will escort you through the check-in process and take you out to the bridge. As you shuffle out to the edge of the bridge, heart pounding and mind racing, remember this – you’ve found yourself at the World Home of Bungy. This is the original, where people come to test their limits. Are you ready to join them?

Auckland

Auckland is New Zealand's largest city, with around 1.6 million inhabitants...but it is not just another 'big smoke' in which international travellers should flee upon arrival. It's a vibrant, funky, sub-tropical metropolis with much to see and do.

Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland in te reo, Maori) boasts incredible dining options, high-end shopping and an abundance of night-clubs and bars to dance the night away...however, there aren't many other cities who can also offer a beautiful harbour, a plethora of stunning, low populous beaches where surfing and water sports are rife, lush forests that take you back in time, and dormant volcanoes one can summit for incredible city to ocean views.

Your Stay: Intercontinental Auckland

Settled where the city meets the sails with windows to the Waitematā, unwind in the sanctuary of the rooms and explore the city centre at InterContinental Auckland.

Days 11-12: Auckland at Leisure

These days are free for you to explore your surrounds in Auckland at leisure.

🏛️
Things to Do

Auckland is one of the best places to go shopping if that's your cup of tea! Check out the shops down the famed Ponsonby Road, in the suburb of Newmarket, or on High Street in the city centre.

Power to the Pedal allow you to discover the city yourself on e-bikes, or 'normal' bikes, or you can also hire a guide to take you sightseeing if you wish.

The Auckland Art Gallery is also a great option for those into their art. Toi o Tāmaki is situated on the edge of Albert Park in a beautiful, award-winning heritage building that blends historical features with vibrant contemporary spaces.

The Gallery is home to a permanent collection of 17,000 artworks, including some of New Zealand’s most treasured works, and stages an ever-changing series of exhibitions and public programs delivered daily, throughout the year.

The main gallery sits in a Category 1 Historic Place building which first opened in 1887. A multi-million dollar restoration and expansion project was completed in 2011 which has transformed the gallery into one of Auckland's most desirable spaces and in 2013, the Auckland Art Gallery won the prestigious title of World Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum is another great place to visit and is in fact New Zealand's first museum. Established in 1852 in a two-room farm cottage in the central Auckland suburb of Grafton, Auckland Museum is recognized as holding nationally and internationally significant collections.

The Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. It is a war memorial for the province of Auckland and holds one of New Zealand's top three heritage libraries. It has pre-eminent Maori and Pacific collections, significant natural history resources and major social and military history collections, as well as decorative arts and pictorial collections.

Auckland Restaurant Recommendations

About 10 years ago, the food scenset in Auckland suddenly woke up and has been reinventing itself every year since.

Unconstrained by tradition and with a wealth of excellent local produce, many outside influences have reinvented themselves here.

Taking superb ingredients and open-minded talent as its base, offerings range from the very freshest sushi and sashimi in the world (our fish flies to Japan and is still extolled as one of the freshest around - come and try it in situ); modern Indian which stands up with the best in London; lots of New Zealand and international offerings; and even one restaurant which carries its opening menu from the 1970s alongside a modern one.

  • The Sugar Club - right at the top of the Sky Tower with phenomenal views of the whole city. Fine dining.
  • The French Café: Not a café, fine dining.
  • Hello Beasty: Asian/NZ fusion.
  • Amano: locally sourced Italian with a NZ spin.
  • Baduzzi: Another amazing NZ-infused Italian.
  • Poni: NZ food, great seafood.
  • Gaja: great Korean.
  • The Grove: Another fine-dining experience.
  • Kingi: Found at the Hotel Britomart, gorgeous seafood.
  • Alma: Andalusia inspired food. Amazing!
  • Masu: beautiful Japanese.
  • Café Hanoi: also close to the Hotel Britomart which many clients stay at, great Vietnamese.
  • Cassia: modern Indian. Fine dining. Delicious!
  • Depot Eatery: more casual but super yummy!
  • Gemmayze Street: Lebanese food, amazing apparently and will leave you very full!
