It is also the capital of traditional crafts of Morocco, where the ancient art forms are preserved and practiced to this day all by hand.
Around sunset, visit the doors of Al Quaraouiyine with your guide, the oldest existing and continually operating educational institution in the world and is sometimes referred to as the oldest university. It was founded by Fatima al- Fihri in 859, becoming one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Muslim world. In 1963, it was incorporated into Morocco’s modern state university system.
