In late June, Marrakech experiences hot and dry weather with average temperatures ranging from 30 to 38 degrees Celsius (86 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit). The city enjoys plenty of sunshine, with minimal rainfall and low humidity levels. Ouarzazate/Skoura Valley, located further southeast, shares similar weather patterns with temperatures ranging from 35 to 42 degrees Celsius (95 to 108 degrees Fahrenheit).

Right before sunset, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and walk you to the square. Explore the famous Jamaa El Fna - a 1000-year old UNESCO site with everything from snake charmers and acrobats, magicians and storytellers, to food stalls and orange juice stands. Take in the scenset with a glass of mint tea in hand at one of the terraces overlooking the square.

Tagine: A tagine is a quintessential Moroccan dish, named after the conical clay pot in which it is cooked. Tobsil offers a variety of tagines, such as lamb with prunes and almonds, chicken with preserved lemons and olives, or vegetable tagine with a medley of seasonal produce. The slow cooking method allows the ingredients to meld together, resulting in tender meat and a fragrant, flavorful sauce.
Pastilla: Pastilla, also known as bastilla, is a traditional Moroccan pastry that combines sweet and savory elements. Tobsil's pastilla is a delicacy made with layers of thin, flaky pastry filled with a mixture of shredded chicken or pigeon, almonds, eggs, and aromatic spices such as cinnamon and saffron. The pastry is then dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon, creating a unique blend of flavors that is both savory and sweet.
Couscous Royal: Couscous is a staple in Moroccan cuisine, and Tobsil serves an exquisite version known as Couscous Royal. This dish features steamed couscous served with a variety of tender meats such as lamb, chicken, and beef, accompanied by an assortment of vegetables such as carrots, zucchini, and chickpeas. The couscous is typically topped with a rich, flavorful broth, and the combination of textures and flavors makes it a favorite among visitors to Tobsil.

Drive past remote Berber adobe villages clinging to the mountain sides and stop by the famous UNESCO site Ait Ben Haddou. This is a fortified village (ksar in Arabic) located along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh. Many families still live in this ancient village, which is composed of a dozen kasbahs -- or merchants houses and other individual dwellings. The structure is a spectacular feat of earthen clay architecture that is typical of this southern region of Morocco.

Skoura is known for its many historical places as well as its natural attractions. Enjoy a visit in the palm grove and visit kasbah Amerhidil, an ancient adobe fort. Explore the small beaches along the Dades river where you can swim, and stop by the Toundount salt mine, where a 180 million-year old dinosaur was discovered.
In the late afternoon, depart for a sunset aperitif experience. Drive out to a spectacular look out point where you can enjoy views of the Skoura Valley. Skoura is one of Morocco’s beautiful oases with an abundance of nature and orchards with flourishing waterways.

Why we love it for you? Deep in the Skoura oasis is this blissfully serene kasbah. The adobe building has 18 rooms, some inside the seductively dark and warren-like main building; others, with terraces, sit outside in the gardens. Vegetables and herbs used by the kitchen are grown in the grounds and there is also a large patch of olive trees that are harvested by locals. Sand and earth-grey tones echo the neutral, natural materials used for the furniture, while Berber rugs cosy up the floor. All have large fireplaces but none have televisions, so bring a book!
