Why we love it for you: The Fairmont in Tangier was designed to be its own separate world high in the hills above the city. The project has restored the palace of two of the sultan’s representatives in the city – individuals who held these positions – to its former magnificence. The goal of the architects was to preserve the essence of the historic building, which dates to the 1920s, through a meticulous renovation and then to further expand on the architectural jewel.
