Blessed by a tropical climate, the Maldives experiences warm air and sea throughout the year: average daytime temperature is 30°C, nights average pleasant 25°C. The sea sees a constant of roundabout 27°C.
Tourist visas are granted on arrival in the Maldives for all nationalities. Tourists do not need pre-approval. However, they must meet basic entry requirements for immigration clearance.
These requirements are:
- A passport or travel document with a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) valid for at least one month. (Passports with extended validity are not accepted.)
- A complete travel itinerary including confirmed return tickets, a prepaid booking at a registered hotel, proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay, or pre-approved visa sponsorship from Maldives Immigration.
- All travelers must complete and submit a Traveller Declaration within 96 hours of their flight time. This must be done electronically via IMUGA.
