In Northern Italy over the month of August expect daily high temperatures of around 86°F/30°C, rarely falling below 74°F/23°C or exceeding 94°F/34°C, and with low temperatures rarely falling below 64°F/ 18°C or exceeding 74°F/23°C.

The mountains require all weather gear, as the weather can change fast there.

US passport holders are allowed to fly into Italy for Business or Tourism without visa requirements.

Notes:

• Footwear: Your footwear must be suitable for mountain trails and rocks. Please bring sturdy hiking / trekking boots - no sneakers.
  
• Sportswear: Please pack enough sportswear for 2.5 days of hiking. The weather in August is usually nice but it changes quickly, so it's also important to bring rainwear as well. Temperature can range from 40 to 80°F, so dressing in layers is recommended!
  
• Water bottles: The water in the Dolomites is drinkable and also very nice. There are fountains here and there, so there's no need to buy water. A bottle to refill as you go is more than enough!

• Daytime temperatures: Typically range between 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F)
  
• Nighttime temperatures: Can drop to around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F)
  
• Rain: Possibility of occasional rain showers

Prepare for variable weather conditions by layering clothing and ensuring waterproof and windproof options are readily available.

Lunches in the Dolomites are not included in your itinerary and will be paid locally.

Credit cards are accepted nearly everywhere. However, in mountain huts, the connection can sometimes be unreliable.

We recommend bringing some cash - at least €50-70 per day.

Suggested gratuity for your hiking guide is between €50-100 per day.

Tipping for the baggage driver is not necessary.

If you ever feel tired during your hikes, please let your guide know. Your guide is highly knowledgeable about the area and is fully equipped to handle changes - they can offer shortcuts where possible and adjust the route to better suit your needs.

Meet your driver in the arrivals area of Treviso Airport, after clearing customs. Your driver will be waiting from morning, and will have a sign with your name on it. Upon meeting your driver, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Val Badia.

Meet your private alpine guide at the Seceda cable car. Ride the cable car to reach the Seceda plateau and enjoy a few hours walking around the amazing peaks and meadows. You can decide the length and difficulty of the hike on the day. You'll stop for lunch in a refuge along the way, lunch will be paid locally.

After lunch, you can decide whether to walk for a few more hours or to enjoy some sun before heading back down to the valley by cable car. When you reach the valley, you'll meet your driver who will transfer you a short distance to your next hotel, Hotel Tyrol.

After lunch, you can decide whether to walk for a few more hours or if you prefer to relax and enjoy some fresh air before heading back down to Malga Zannes. Afterwards, you'll meet your driver, who will transfer you about half an hour to your next hotel, Forestis. You'll arrive at your accommodation in the early afternoon.
