Boys' Trip to Italy

The Italian la dolce vita is difficult to describe. It is something that truly needs to be experienced first-hand. It is found in the ambient sounds of Rome's cobblestone streets, in the rows of vines of Tuscany's tranquil vineyards, reflecting in the immaculate and azure Mediterranean waters, and in the daily interactions with Italy's jovial citizens. The unbridled romanticism of a journey together in Italy will leave you with memories lasting a lifetime.

Weather

The weather in Italy during August is generally hot and sunny, as it's the peak of summer. However, conditions can vary depending on the specific region:

  • Northern Italy: Temperatures usually range from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F). It can be humid, with occasional thunderstorms.
  • Central Italy: Temperatures typically range from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F). It's usually dry and sunny, with very little rainfall.

August is the height of tourist season in Italy, so popular destinations can be crowded. It's also when many Italians take their summer vacations, so some local businesses might be closed, especially in smaller towns.

Remember to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun if you're planning to visit Italy in August.

Milan

Whereas most parts of Italy feel like stepping into ancient history, Milan is emphatically modern. You’ll still find landmarks like Italy’s biggest cathedral and frescos painted by a well-known artist, but the high fashion, skyscrapers, and trendsetting restaurants give the city a 21st-century undertone. Designer shopping is just as much a part of Milanese culture as aperitivo, the local version of happy hour where drinks are usually accompanied by a buffet of Italian snacks.

Milan Recommendations
🥙
Where to eat
  • Trattoria Trippa Trippa is a lively Milan eatery led by a chef specializing in meat-centric cuisine. The restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere and focuses on ingredient-driven dishes. Guests appreciate the rustic presentation, warm hospitality, and unique flavor pairings, making Trippa a standout dining destination in the city.
  • Tipografia Alimentare overlooks the Naviglio at the Ponte Vecchio with seven windows overlooking the beautiful green pedestrian area that runs along its banks. It's a food hub where you can discover and taste refined, seasonal, natural products.
🍕
Pizza

Some of our favorite pizzerias are:

  • Capuano's, everything at this place founded by a person is straight out of Naples. There’s plenty on offer for those who prefer traditional wood-fired pizzas, including Cosacca, made with Conciato Romano, a rich and nutty Italian ewe cheese traditionally ripened in earthenware jars.
  • Da Zero, expect tasty pizzas and a priceless atmosphere of conviviality and well-being.
  • Marghe is one of the culinary founders of pizza in Milan, which has been established as a source of guaranteed satisfaction. If you’ve never believed in love at first sight, after tasting Marghe’s pizza, you will probably change your mind.

We can make reservations for you if you'd like, otherwise enjoy exploring our recommendations at your own pace.

Day 2: Milano
09:30 - Morning Milan Orientation Tour

After breakfast this morning, meet your private driver and English-speaking guide in the lobby of your hotel. Today you will discover the highlights of Milan with a half-day orientation tour!

Next, head to the magnificent Sforza Castle. This was the headquarters of the Sforza family, who hosted Leonardo da Vinci for two decades. Here, your guide can explain how the Sforza family seized
power from the previous Visconti rulers. It was the residence of the Sforza dukes in the 15th century.

After, proceed with a walk through Porta Nuova district, a vibrant, futuristic district overlooking two of Milan’s more traditional neighborhoods. A perfect spot to explore the new soul of the city! This historic, formerly industrial area has been given a makeover thanks to an important and complex redevelopment plan that has now transformed it into Milan’s most futuristic district, redesigning and redefining both its skyline and character.

Rome

With an uncanny sense of foresight, Rome was first called the Eternal City 2,000 years ago. Even by today’s standards, it’s still grand in a way that few other places can compare to. The buildings are dilapidated and the roads disheveled, but chaos has never looked so exquisite. The cobblestone streets may be nonsensical, but a wrong turn always leads to an unexpected delight: an intimate piazza, a baroque fountain, or a homey trattoria serving house-made cacio e pepe.

🌞
Evening at Leisure

Enjoy an evening at leisure. We can assist with dining reservations if you'd like to pre-book. Otherwise, the hotel concierge will be able to assist you when on site.

Your Stay: Six Senses Rome

No matter where you are, la dolce vita is a life where you’re connected to what matters. Six Senses Rome translates this vision to offer both an escape and a sensory-rich journey for guests. Layered on to this are little rituals contrasting with the grandiose beauty of the Eternal City. This is the spot where all paths meet.

🍅
Where to eat: Trattoria's

If you're looking for a traditional trattoria, we recommend:

  • Arcangelo, in the heart of the Roman Prati area, is the home of the chef, where they propose their traditional Roman cuisine according to their taste experience.
  • Felice a Testaccio is a celebrated trattoria with a simple, bare-brick interior, dedicated to Roman cooking - can feel touristy but the cacio e pepe pasta is worth it!

These are recommendations only - no bookings have currently been made.

🥙
Where to eat: Noteworthy

These are recommendations we love that you think you may also enjoy, including low-key dining and atmospheric eateries:

  • Supplizio offers classic Roman street food such as supplì (fried rice balls) and salads in a homey-chic setting for grab-and-go.

These are recommendations only - no bookings have currently been made.

🍕
Where to eat: Pizza

The Roman pizza is a staple of its own! Some of our favourite places to grab a slice (or two), are:

  • Antico Forno Roscioli's pizza by the slice is baked in five-foot-long slabs! This is also a bakery with a trendy vibe.
  • Bonci Pizzarium is one of the best "al taglio" in the city – grab some slices and find a place to sit!
