The Italian la dolce vita is difficult to describe. It is something that truly needs to be experienced first-hand. It is found in the ambient sounds of Rome's cobblestone streets, in the rows of vines of Tuscany's tranquil vineyards, reflecting in the immaculate and azure Mediterranean waters, and in the daily interactions with Italy's jovial citizens. The unbridled romanticism of a journey together in Italy will leave you with memories lasting a lifetime.

Whereas most parts of Italy feel like stepping into ancient history, Milan is emphatically modern. You’ll still find landmarks like Italy’s biggest cathedral and frescos painted by a well-known artist, but the high fashion, skyscrapers, and trendsetting restaurants give the city a 21st-century undertone. Designer shopping is just as much a part of Milanese culture as aperitivo, the local version of happy hour where drinks are usually accompanied by a buffet of Italian snacks.
Check in and enjoy the rest of the day and your evening at leisure.
The Four Seasons have a private covered car park, and it does not need to be reserved in advance.

After breakfast this morning, meet your private driver and English-speaking guide in the lobby of your hotel. Today you will discover the highlights of Milan with a half-day orientation tour!
Head out for a tour of the Duomo – the third largest Cathedral in the world (outside view only). The exterior said to have the appearance of a wedding cake, is pink, grey, peach, and fawn marble topped by 135 spires, and of course, the interior is just as lavish.
Next, head to the magnificent Sforza Castle. This was the headquarters of the Sforza family, who hosted Leonardo da Vinci for two decades. Here, your guide can explain how the Sforza family seized
power from the previous Visconti rulers. It was the residence of the Sforza dukes in the 15th century.
After, proceed with a walk through Porta Nuova district, a vibrant, futuristic district overlooking two of Milan’s more traditional neighborhoods. A perfect spot to explore the new soul of the city! This historic, formerly industrial area has been given a makeover thanks to an important and complex redevelopment plan that has now transformed it into Milan’s most futuristic district, redesigning and redefining both its skyline and character.

With an uncanny sense of foresight, Rome was first called the Eternal City 2,000 years ago. Even by today’s standards, it’s still grand in a way that few other places can compare to. The buildings are dilapidated and the roads disheveled, but chaos has never looked so exquisite. The cobblestone streets may be nonsensical, but a wrong turn always leads to an unexpected delight: an intimate piazza, a baroque fountain, or a homey trattoria serving house-made cacio e pepe.
Enjoy an evening at leisure. We can assist with dining reservations if you'd like to pre-book. Otherwise, the hotel concierge will be able to assist you when on site.
No matter where you are, la dolce vita is a life where you’re connected to what matters. Six Senses Rome translates this vision to offer both an escape and a sensory-rich journey for guests. Layered on to this are little rituals contrasting with the grandiose beauty of the Eternal City. This is the spot where all paths meet.

Vatican City is not just the center of the Catholic Church, it’s a country unto itself. There are dozens of museums and galleries to explore on its 109 acres. Begin your tour at the Vatican, where your expert guide will give you a detailed understanding of the incredible masterpieces on display within the nine-mile collection.
Observe the most important sights, from Apollo del Belvedere to the Raphael rooms. There are other stops at impressive exhibits in the Vatican Museums during this tour, which include the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Hall of Maps - a superb collection of 40 frescoed wall maps that represent a unique record of the geographic and cartographic knowledge of the 16th century. Exact stops to be determined on the day of your visit.
Continue to the magical Sistine Chapel, the world-renowned chapel containing ceiling and altar frescoes by Michelangelo. Please note that no talking is allowed in the Sistine Chapel or St. Peter’s Basilica.
Therefore, your guide will provide commentary beforehand.

After the Vatican Museums, continue to the Vatican Mosaic School. Please bring your passport.
Founded in the 17th century, this is the world’s only school of this kind, implementing the same mosaic-making method in use since its founding 400 years ago. Not usually open to the public, your Vatican Mosaic School experience begins in the display room where you’ll learn about the school’s history, the artists and their roles, and view pieces on display including -if possible- the latest restoration project from St. Peter’s.
