The Italian la dolce vita is difficult to describe. It is something that truly needs to be experienced first-hand. It is found in the ambient sounds of Rome's cobblestone streets, in the rows of vines of Tuscany's tranquil vineyards, reflecting in the immaculate and azure Mediterranean waters, and in the daily interactions with Italy's jovial citizens. The unbridled romanticism of a honeymoon in Italy will leave you with memories lasting a lifetime.

In many ways, visiting Florence today feels like a trip directly into the Renaissance. The energy that inspired the likes of da Vinci and Michelangelo is still palpable, from the grandiose pink and green facade of the Duomo to an unembellished plate of Florentine steak with potatoes. Itβs easy to get engrossed by the art and shopping in the historic center, but walk across the Ponte Vecchio to find Florenceβs most authentic osterias and enotecas on the left bank of the river.
The contemporary Gallery Hotel Art is a 4 star design and boutique hotel in Florence dreamed up by a refined Florentine architect, and offers a favorite local meeting place in the heart of Florence amongst fashion, art, and stylish people. Set in a quiet courtyard near the Arno and Ponte Vecchio and close to Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, you may experience art and photography vernissages, enjoy a few quiet moments in the inviting lounge-library, or indulge in culinary Eastern delights at the Fusion Bar & Restaurant.

Crown your day discovering the magnificent Accademia Gallery, home to one of the world's most famous artworks: Michelangelo's David, a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture. Sculpted in marble by a young artist, the statue came to symbolize the defense of civil liberties embodied in the Republic of Florence, an independent city-state threatened on all sides by more powerful rival states and by the hegemony of the Medici family. Originally placed beside Palazzo Vecchio, the city town hall, the statue was transferred to the Accademia from Piazza della Signoria in 1873. After delving into the history and artistic value of David enjoy admiring the artist's famous unfinished statues - the Prisoners, St. Matthew and the Pieta.

Itβs easy to get wrapped up in the magic of Florence, but thereβs so much more to Tuscany outside of the capital city. Hop in the car and the city quickly gives way to medieval villages, terracotta estates, and endless rows of vineyards. The region is renowned for its history and art, but sensual pleasures reign supreme: copious glasses of wine, simple cooking with seasonal ingredients, natural thermal baths.
One of the most storied Tuscany resorts, Castello di Casole is alive with history. The site is deeply rooted in its agricultural past stretching back to the Bronze Age; artefacts from ancient farmers have been found across the grounds and are now on display at the hotel. The castle itself dates back to the 10th century. Throughout the years it has hosted royalty, film stars and political luminaries. Today the buildings have been lovingly restored, cherishing the storied past while offering every modern indulgence.

Stop at the ruins of Pompeii on your drive for a historical overview of this incredible archaeological site. You will learn about the successive habitation on this site starting with the Oscans, then Samnites, and finally the Romans, until the fateful day in 79 A.D. when the nearby volcano, Vesuvius, exploded, burying the city instantaneously in deep, suffocating ash.
You'll explore the site, walking down ancient Roman roads, dipping your heads into private homes, shops, public baths, and amphitheaters. As you move along, your guide will talk about the daily life of Romans and how society was structured. Learn about the role of women, the education of children, and the institution of slavery, using the well-preserved city as your textbook.

While most of Italy is about sightseeing, thereβs nothing to visit per se on the Amalfi Coast. Instead of lavish churches and ancient monuments, the rugged coastline is the sight, best enjoyed from a hilltop al fresco restaurant, the bow of a yacht, or inside your car while navigating one of the worldβs most scenic drives. Amalfi is a luxurious destination with a humble past, where glitzy villas still intermingle with sleepy fishing villages and bucolic lemon orchards.
Sitting marvelously atop the cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea is Hotel Le Agavi. This chic property evokes feelings of the aquatic scenery below with its blue, white, and gold color palette. Hotel Le Agavi's lovely pool and restaurant terraces offer romantic vantage points to catch the rising and setting sun over the Amalfi Coast.
