It is found in the ambient sounds of Rome's cobblestone streets, in the rows of vines of Tuscany's tranquil vineyards, reflecting in the immaculate and azure Mediterranean waters, and in the daily interactions with Italy's jovial citizens. Tipping is always appreciated, though not obligatory. For drivers, we generally suggest a tip depending on the duration of the transfer. For guides, we recommend a tip for half day experiences or a tip for full day experiences. Tipping at restaurants is completely at your discretion and a few Euro (up to 10% of the bill) is sufficient.
Upon arrival at Florence Airport (FLR), you will proceed through immigration, baggage claim, and customs. You will then be met in the arrivals hall for a private transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Crown your day discovering the magnificent Accademia Gallery, home to one of the world's most famous artworks: Michelangelo's David, a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture. Sculpted in marble by a young artist, the statue came to symbolize the defense of civil liberties embodied in the Republic of Florence, an independent city-state threatened on all sides by more powerful rival states and by the hegemony of the Medici family. Originally placed beside Palazzo Vecchio, the city town hall, the statue was transferred to the Accademia from Piazza della Signoria in 1873. After delving into the history and artistic value of David enjoy admiring the artist's famous unfinished statues - the Prisoners, St. Matthew and the Pieta.

Stop at the ruins of Pompeii on your drive for a historical overview of this incredible archaeological site. You will learn about the successive habitation on this site starting with the Oscans, then Samnites, and finally the Romans, until the fateful day in 79 A.D. when the nearby volcano, Vesuvius, exploded, burying the city instantaneously in deep, suffocating ash.
You'll explore the site, walking down ancient Roman roads, dipping your heads into private homes, shops, public baths, and amphitheaters. As you move along, your guide will talk about the daily life of Romans and how society was structured. Learn about the role of women, the education of children, and the institution of slavery, using the well-preserved city as your textbook.
