In October, Amalfi typically enjoys mild temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to low 70s Fahrenheit with occasional showers, while Rome experiences similar weather patterns with temperatures averaging in the mid to high 60s Fahrenheit and occasional rainfall. Both locations offer pleasant conditions for exploring ancient ruins, coastal vistas, and indulging in Italian cuisine during the fall season.
U.S. passport holders do not need any special visa in order to visit Italy for tourism. Make sure your passport is valid for at least three months after your trip.

Everything is louder, crazier, and tastier in Naples. The city constantly feels like it’s moving at 100 miles per hour, with rushing motorbikes and the mayhem of people as they go about their day. Stop at the ruins of Pompeii on your drive for a historical overview of this incredible archaeological site. You will learn about the successive habitation on this site starting with the Oscans, then Samnites, and finally the Romans, until the fateful day in 79 A.D. when the nearby volcano, Vesuvius, exploded, burying the city instantaneously in deep, suffocating ash.
You'll explore the site, walking down ancient Roman roads, dipping our heads into private homes, shops, public baths, and amphitheaters. As you move along, your guide will talk about the daily life of Romans and how society was structured. "La Dolce Vita" is practically synonymous with Capri, the island known for its cerulean sea views, luminescent grottoes, and luxurious lifestyle. You'll meet your skipper for a boat ride over to the island, discovering some hidden treasures along the way such as the White Grotto, The Green Grotto, The Faraglioni Rocks, Marina Piccola, Punta Carena, and The Blue Grotto.
