While most of Italy is about sightseeing, there’s nothing to visit per se on the Amalfi Coast. Instead of lavish churches and ancient monuments, the rugged coastline is the sight, best enjoyed from a hilltop al fresco restaurant, the bow of a yacht, or inside your car while navigating one of the world’s most scenic drives. Amalfi is a luxurious destination with a humble past, where glitzy villas still intermingle with sleepy fishing villages and bucolic lemon orchards.
Start your first journey together on the picturesque island of Ischia before heading to the Amalfi Coast where you can indulge in delicious seafood, join a cooking class, walk it off on a hike, and then lay out under the Mediterranean sun on your chartered boat. Finish up your time in the living museum of Rome with its monuments to one of the greatest civilizations of Europe.

Daily high temperatures in August range from 88°F to 85°F, rarely falling below 80°F or exceeding 93°F. We strongly suggest hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen when spending time outside whether at the beach club or while touring.
The probability of precipitation during the month of August sits around 15%. While not too common, it isn't out of the realm of possibility that you may have a rainy day or two so we suggest bringing a light rain jacket and sturdy walking shoes for any walking/hiking along pathways, post-rainstorm.

An 8th century BC colony of Magna Graecia sitting in the Bay of Naples, Ischia today is famed for its thermal spas, manicured gardens, striking Aragonese castle and humbled, straightforward Italian airs – a feature also reflected in its culinary offerings.
San Montano Resort & Spa on Ischia is a 5 star hotel overlooking the sea at the Bay of San Montano and the Gulf of Naples, surrounded by three hectares of parkland, at the heart of a wonderful Mediterranean garden. The hidden bays and coves, the rustic charm of the natural world, the thrill of witnessing the day dawn over Vesuvius, the mellow sound of the piano, all the while sipping on a cool “Lemontano”, as you wait for the sun to set in a red blaze that lights the Pontine Islands in the distance. All this makes for a uniquely Ischia getaway.

With an uncanny sense of foresight, Rome was first called the Eternal City 2,000 years ago. Even by today’s standards, it’s still grand in a way that few other places can compare to. The buildings are dilapidated and the roads disheveled, but chaos has never looked so exquisite. The cobblestone streets may be nonsensical, but a wrong turn always leads to an unexpected delight: an intimate piazza, a baroque fountain, or a homey trattoria serving house-made cacio e pepe.
Introduced to Roman society in 1894, the architecturally iconic St. Regis Rome is located in one of the city’s most impressive palazzos. The pioneer St. Regis in Europe and a social beacon for Romans and international travelers, the hotel has emerged to define a new era of luminosity. Blending a noble heritage with fearless, elegant interiors has transformed this grand dame into a supremely luxurious and artful residence. High-ceilinged and light-filled, the guestrooms and suites are styled with luxurious Rubelli fabrics, handmade glass and collectable curios – effortlessly sophisticated and distinctively urbane.

Your tour begins from the gates of the Colosseum, the most iconic site of Ancient Rome. Here, at the world's largest standing amphitheater, you’ll learn about the gladiatorial shows and public spectacles that took place almost two thousand years ago. Feel free to ask your guide in-depth questions about the construction of this wonder and the role it played in society, politics, religion and history.
Next, you’ll make your way down the exciting main street of Ancient Rome, Via Sacra, and marvel at the major sites in the city center, including the Curia (senate house), and the temples, triumphal arches, and basilicas around the historical Forum Square.
Afterwards, explore Palatine Hill, one of the sites where the city first began, and delve into the legend of its founding in 753 B.C. by emperor Romulus. By the end of this four hour tour, you’ll have a deeper knowledge of the rise and decline of one of history's most pivotal empires–and the many historical figures who once walked the streets of Rome.

See the Vatican Museums with your guide, beginning in the chronologically arranged picture gallery known as the Pinacoteca. The broad collection of paintings and other artworks included here provide an excellent overview of art history from the late medieval to high Renaissance periods. Here you can see pieces taken from Egypt during the Roman times, a sarcophagi from around 1000BCE and a mummy are on display. Another option is the Museo Gregoriano Etrusco which contains artifacts unearthed in Etruscan tombs and Roman antiquities. You will see a range of impressive craftsmanship and artistic endeavors which span the Iron Age to the fifth century BC.
After seeing some of the highlights of the Vatican Museum, make your way to the famous Sistine Chapel. Discuss the cultural, religious, and artistic climate that influenced the various artists who worked on the numerous frescos.
