The Sardinian cuisine is somewhat variegated and mainly characterized by its island-status and its agropastoral culture, enriched during the centuries throughout contaminations, contacts and trades with other peoples. Varied and simple at the same time it ranges from roasted meats, to the bread tradition, the pecorino cheeses, the wines, from the sea and from the land dishes, the game meat, the fishing or the gathering of natural herbs.
It is considered to be an important part of the Mediterranean diet and it was declared masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity in 2010 by UNESCO.

- Cala Brandinchi
Often called Sardinia's Tahiti for its brilliant white sand and shallow turquoise water. Rock formations at either side form pools that are a habitat for fish, and popular for snorkeling. The beach is backed by a low pine forest and sand dunes, and off the shore stands the dramatic silhouette of the island of Tavolara. Here there are tourist services - beach chairs and umbrellas for rent and refreshment kiosks!
- Lu Impostu
Close to the town with white sand and clear, gentle waters, which you can explore by rental kayak.
- La Cinta and Spiaggia Isuledda
Some more of the best-known beaches in the area, with shallow water popular for swimming, paddle boating, and kitesurfing.
Porto Cervo is the epitome of opulence. Often referred to as the “kingdom of luxury holidays,” Porto Cervo is where to buy high-end fashion items, not handmade, charming souvenirs. Lining the main hub of Porto Cervo, you’ll gawk at the abundance of exclusive stores, including Versace, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana. You’ll also see the Rolex store, as well as the poshest jewelry stores on the planet, like Cartier and Bulgari. There are a few independent shops tossed in among the famous brand names. Head over to La Bikineria, a swimsuit shop that hand-makes all their bikinis and swimwear locally.

- Knives: Sardinia is famous for its blades. Legend has it that every man here carries one, often crafted out of wood or horn.
- Bronze Pasta Cutters: These little gadgets are used to carve intricate patterns in local dolci and pasta. They render the finished products as delicate and dainty as lace and, because they are beautifully fashioned out of bronze, are worth collecting purely to look at too.
- Baskets: There’s a long tradition of basket weaving in Sardinia, and reed baskets are still used to dry pasta.
