Explore the iconic Golden Circle with your private guide. You have the flexibility of choosing how much time you spend at each location, and your guides will show you some hidden treasures.
The Golden Circle needs little introduction - it is, without doubt, the most famous sightseeing route in Iceland. On the Golden Circle tour, you will be able to visit the beautiful national park of Þingvellir, where you can clearly see the American and the Euroasian tectonic plates split apart. The most famous attraction is without a doubt the geothermal area of Geysir. Last but not least, you will get to marvel at the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall.
At Þingvellir (pronounced "Thing-fell-ear"), one can witness Iceland's geological forces are in full effect. The Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which separates the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, runs directly through the park. Because of this, geologists have been able to determine that the island is slowly splitting apart at the rate of two centimeters per year due to the movement of these plates!
Additionally, Þingvellir was the site of Iceland's parliament, the longest surviving parliament in the world, from the year 930 until 1798 when it was migrated over to Reykjavik.
The next stop is the geyser field of Geysir & Strokkur. This geothermal area of Haukadalur is home to some of the most well-known and easily accessible geysers in Iceland. While Geysir rarely erupts, Strokkur frequently shoots scalding hot water high into the air.
Finally, head over to Gullfoss. Gullfoss, meaning "Golden Falls", are powerful waterfalls sending upwards of 5,000 cubic feet of water into the canyon of the Hvítá River.
Driving along Iceland’s southern coast is a surefire way to sample all of the country’s most iconic geographic wonders. Travelers can see volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, ice caves, black sand beaches, lava rock fields—the list goes on—in just a day’s worth of driving, but better not to rush it. Pull over often and have your hiking shoes ready, because you’ll want as much time as possible to absorb the natural splendor all around you.

Today, you'll embark on a private tour with your guide of Iceland's spectacular southern coast.
With vast black lava beaches as far as the eye can see, majestic waterfalls, rugged rock formations and enchanting glacier tongues, it is a magical area. You can expect to see the iconic black sand beach of Reynisfjara. As you walk along the jet black sand, you will be able to spot the Reynisdrangar rocky sea stacks which, according to legend, are trolls turned to solid stone at sunrise as they tried to drag ships from the ocean to the shore. You will also get to visit the charming coastal village of Vík í Mýrdal, whose picturesque church enjoys glorious ocean views. Nearby is Dyrhólaey; a 120m high natural rock arch, which serves as a bird sanctuary in summertime. You will also get to see some of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, including Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, where you'll find a winding staircase leading to the top of the falls, offering a birds’ eye view of this natural marvel.
Seljalandfoss is unlike any other waterfall you'll visit here in Iceland. Just behind the falls is a footpath that provides for some spectacular photo opportunities. The view looking out to the coastline as the falls crash before you is nothing short of remarkable.
Along the way, be sure to make a stop at Skógafoss. Feel the full force of this waterfall as you walk through the shrouded mist directly to the water's flow. This is not a dry experience! If you'd rather avoid getting wet, there is a short hiking path up to the rocky cliffside that offers another perspective of the spectacular falls.
Set foot on the black sand beaches of Reynisfjara. The iconic black sand is the product of volcanic rock that has eroded over the course of millennia.
After breakfast and check-out, you'll be transferred to Keflavík Airport (KEF) where you will board your domestic flight to North Iceland.

It doesn’t get more off-the-grid than the Fljót Valley on the mountainous Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland. Deplar Farm, named one of 2023’s “Best Hotels in the World” on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List, embodies an adventurous spirit fueled by deep connections to extraordinary landscapes. This remote area is a gateway for adventures ranging from skiing to sea kayaking and the perfect location for viewing the Aurora Borealis due to its notable lack of artificial light. Located on a converted sheep farm, Deplar Farm blends into the natural landscape with its black timber cladding and living roof. Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the property embrace the surrounding peaks and allow for an optimal perspective on the colorful skies dancing outside.
Back at the lodge, many guests choose to spend an entire day in our spa, hopping from the geothermal-heated indoor/outdoor pool to our Isopod flotation tanks and outdoor Viking sauna.
