There is an old Greek saying that goes along the lines of 'When God wanted to recreate Heaven on Earth; he made Greece', and it's easy to see why. The crystal blue waters of the Aegean, the idyllic Cycladic islands, the relics and monuments of one of the most impactful civilizations that have persisted for a millennium; it's all just a fraction of the allure that enamors visitors to this sanctuary in the Mediterranean.

Maintaining a place for thousands of years is no easy task and, on the surface, Athens can feel like a city in shambles. But if you’re willing to embrace the chaos, then hipster neighborhoods and an underground art scene give Athens an up-and-coming vibe, despite being one of the oldest cities in the world. It’s a capital of contradictions, where sipping a craft cocktail in a trendy rooftop bar overlooking the ruins of the Acropolis is par for the course.
Check into your hotel and take a moment to refresh before tonight's culinary tour.

Following breakfast this morning, complete your check-out from the hotel and securely store your bags before meeting your guide for a morning exploration of the Acropolis.
The Acropolis is the most important ancient site in the Western world. Crowned by the Parthenon, it stands sentinel over Athens, visible from almost everywhere within the city. Its monuments and sanctuaries of white Pentelic marble gleam in the midday sun and gradually take on a honey hue as the sun sinks, while at night they stand brilliantly illuminated above the city. A glimpse of this magnificent sight can not fail to exalt your spirit.
The Acropolis became a World Heritage-listed site in 1987. The Museum was founded to exhibit all the significant finds from the Sacred Rock and its foothills. It was designed by architect Bernard Tschumi with Michael Photiadis and inaugurated in the summer of 2009. The Museum hosts its collections across three levels, as well as in the archaeological excavation that lies at its foundations.
Please note that the walk up the Acropolis Hill is part of the experience of visiting this incredible ancient site. Consider the astounding number of people who have walked the same path through millennia. In fact, all the buildings you see on the Acropolis were built or rebuilt during the 500-300 B.C. As a result, the marble steps are very shiny and slick. Additionally, don’t forget to wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes and absolutely avoid wearing flip flops. Sunblock, sunglasses, and a hat are a must. Lastly, don’t forget to bring a water bottle and lots of energy!

The local residents would tell you that their island is the most inviting of all the Cyclades. While they may be biased, it’s hard not to agree once you’re there. The gentle waves and sneaking coves beckon visitors like a siren’s song, and the people are so hospitable you may end up in someone’s home for family dinner. Brandishing its community spirit, Paros is also on track to become the first plastic-free island in the Mediterranean.
Why we love it for you: Paros is known as one of the most laidback Greek islands, and Parīlio fully plays into the ethos of ultimate leisure. The design team created a sanctuary by limiting distractions, opting for whitewashed walls, neutral colors, and unfussy décor that blends in with the natural beauty of Paros. The cross-shaped pool is as calm and cerulean as the Mediterranean Sea, although the real thing is walking distance away when you want time on the beach.
