With its belle époque architecture, centuries of history, and countless museums, it’s no wonder Paris has been the home to generations of artists, writers, and musicians. It’s easy to feel inspired while climbing the Eiffel Tower or wandering the Louvre, but the city’s true soul resides in its quotidian pleasures: a flaky croissant from the corner patisserie, discovering a quiet cobblestone street, drinking an apéritif along the Seine.
Upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport, meet your driver for a private transfer to your hotel off of the Champs—Élysées.

On the way, you will make a stop in Giverny where your guide awaits you. Get ready for a private visit of Monet’s house and gardens. The painter fell in love with the village of Giverny while looking out of a train window and decided to settle there and rearrange the estate into a source of inspiration for his paintings. He especially worked on his garden to create a floral masterpiece, with water, colors, and reflection displays.

This morning, meet your chauffeur-guide in the lobby of your hotel to follow the footsteps of Allied soldiers with a full-day tour of D-Day's beaches and main landmarks.
You will see the village Sainte-Mère-Eglise, famous for the hanging paratrooper on the church tower, commemorating the difficult D-Day battle after which the town was the very first to be liberated in France. Alternatively, you may prefer to visit Utah Beach, the westernmost of five landing beaches.
The tour continues with the Pointe du Hoc, overlooking the English Channel. Come explore the remains of German artillery, bunkers, and bomb craters while your guide will recount the famous story of how American Rangers did what many considered to be impossible by scaling the cliffs and taking the battery on D-Day, as depicted in the 1962 Academy Award-winning film ‘The Longest Day.’
Your chauffeur-guide will then take you to Omaha Beach, where so many Americans lost their lives. Right on top of the beach, the American Cemetery stands witness to the sacrifices that went into overcoming the Nazi regime: 9,000 perfectly aligned graves solemnly remind us of the young lives that were lost in this major battle for liberty.

If the weather permits, experience the spirit of Deauville with a sulky ride on the beach. Horses and races are so important here that the city racetrack was built even before the church in 1860. But harness racing is even better on the beach, with invigorating sea air, ocean spray, and sand for as far as the eyes can see.
You will start with a briefing to introduce you to this experience as well as to the safety rules. Warm-up, trotting, water crossings, and bursts of speed are your program for this morning!
