Upon your arrival at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris, a greeter will meet you at the door of the aircraft and assist you with your luggage. You will then be escorted through immigration and customs via the diplomatic line and taken to your driver for a private transfer to your hotel.

Meet your driver and guide at your hotel in the morning to depart for the dazzling Château de Versailles. Please do not be late for your pick-up this morning as your tour of the Hidden Rooms has a prompt start in the early afternoon.

You'll enjoy a privately guided visit of this historical and architectural jewel. The Palace was built by the great Sun King, Louis XIV, to accommodate over 2,000 members of the Royal Court and most of all to embody the glory of his reign.

This drive is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic.

Upon your arrival in the early afternoon, you will gain exclusive access to a section of the palace previously reserved for the royal family! The hidden rooms and attics were where Kings Louis XV and Louis XVI arranged smaller apartments to escape the crowd of courtiers and the palace etiquette. Using hidden staircases, you will reach the top floors of the castle where a very private atmosphere still reigns, far from the gold decorations and high ceilings of the State Apartments. This 1.5-hour visit is only possible with a guide from the castle, who is not permitted to take you anywhere else in the castle.

From here, you will then meet back up with your guide for a visit of the public areas of the State Apartments and Hall of Mirrors. You will also be able to see the Queens’ Apartments, in the full revived magnificence of the Rococo style of Marie-Antoinette’s bed chamber.

Finally, you will be taken to visit the gardens. In 1661, Louis XIV entrusted André Le Nôtre with the creation and renovation of the gardens of Versailles, which he considered just as important as the Palace. Creating the gardens was a monumental task. Large amounts of soil had to be shifted to level the ground, create parterres, build the Orangery and dig out the fountains and Canal in places previously occupied solely by meadows and marshes. Trees were brought in from different regions of France. Thousands of men, sometimes even entire regiments, took part in this immense project.

At the end of your tour in the late afternoon, you will be met by your driver for a private transfer back to your hotel.

Become immersed in the development of Parisian districts and learn about the inception of the Haussmann renovation.
