Florence
🍽️
Fine-Dining
  • Essenziale: As its name suggests, Essenziale, on the Piazza del Cestello, has only the essentials: loud music, bright lights, stone floors, and bare tables save for water glasses and folded napkins. There’s nowhere to hide, and nothing masking the excellent food. Menus are based on seasonal, regional, and local ingredients; add the odd global influence, accomplished technique, and real flair into the mix and the results are always interesting—sometimes sensational. (short drive/short walk)
  • Regina Bistecca: Regina Bistecca isn't a secret, nor is it tucked away in some off-the-beaten path alleyway in Florence. It is simply the city's premier spot to indulge in the city's iconic dish of bistecca alla Fiorentina. The steaks here are expertly handled and prepared one-way, very rare, as it is meant to be consumed. (short walk)
🥩
Traditional
  • Cibrèo Trattoria: A popular trattoria serving Tuscan classics. It is often crowded, and there is no point in trying to make a reservation as they don’t accept them. Roast rack of beef (gran pezzo) is one of the specialities. (6-min drive/13-min walk)
  • Trattoria Cammillo: Something of a Florentine institution, it's located on the south bank of the Arno by the Ponte Vecchio, was founded in 1945 by the grandfather of the present owner and part-time chef. Unusually long and varied, the menu consists of meat, fish, and vegetable dishes that change (to a certain extent) with the seasons and a handful of daily specials. (18-min drive/9-min walk)
  • Vini E Vecchi Sapori: Tiny, crowded and noisy, this traditional Florentine haunt is all wood paneling, rustic beams, and memorabilia-stacked walls. The “No pizza, no cappuccino, no ice, no takeaway” notices say it all. This is a place to feast on competently-prepared Florentine classics such as liver-topped crostini, pappardelle pasta with duck sauce, and peposo, a hearty, pepper-centric beef stew. (5-min walk)
🍸
Contemporary
  • Il Santo Bevitore: Both traditional and refined Tuscan dishes in a traditional vaulted venue steps from the River Arno. (15-min drive/10-min walk)
  • Zeb: A small, sleek, diner-style restaurant in the San Niccolo district serving delicious traditional food on a changing menu in contemporary surroundings. Two long counters with high stools face each other across a narrow space where a mother-and-son team prepare, serve, and pour wine. (6-min drive/17-min walk)
  • Gurdulù: New management and a new chef at this Santo Spirito address have shaken things up, and Gurdulù has morphed from a high-end gourmet restaurant into a deli/takeaway/eat-in hybrid. The sophisticated retro decor (moody blues and grays, 1950s-style brass lamps, etc.) is still intact, but both the vibe and the menu choice are more relaxed these days. (16-min drive/13-min walk)
  • Osteria dell'Enoteca: A contemporary space within the context of an ancient Oltrarno townhouse, Osteria dell’Enoteca excels at seasonal Tuscan fare with a modern twist. (18-min drive/15-min walk)
🍷
Wine Bars
  • Le Volpi e L’Uva: A great pre-dinner stop! Tucked away off the Ponte Vecchio is one of the most revered wine bars in the country. Part shop, part bar and local hangout, Le Volpi pours and sells bottles that uniquely represent the Italian wine landscape, highlighting passionate producers. (8-min walk)
  • La Terrazza: On the rooftop terrace of Hotel Continentale is one of the best views over Florence... and also a fantastic spot for a pre-dinner glass of wine or cocktail! Regardless of where you end up this evening, La Terrazza is definitely worth a stop. (5-min walk)
  • Il Santino: The wine bar of Il Santo Bevitore is just a short walk from the restaurant. It's a easy-going and quaint atmosphere with seasoned sommeliers to help guide you through their wine offerings (15-min drive/11-min walk)
  • Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina: An extensive cellar of Tuscan wines paired with regional dishes on a terrace opposite Palazzo Pitti in Oltrarno. (15-min drive/10-min walk)

Paris

Paris is a city, a feeling, a lifestyle, and an inspiration. One of the most beautiful cities on earth, where an afternoon spent getting lost in the beauty one of its famous monuments or strolling its quintessential cobblestone streets is a gift even the most seasoned local will cherish. Known for its incredible shopping, museums, haute cuisine and people watching, Paris is a symbol of polished luxury. However, some of the city's greatest pleasures are its humble ones: a simple brasserie, quiet courtyards, or a freshly baked baguette. While every quarter has its own personality, no matter where you find yourself, the city of lights will always charm you with its rich culture and history, and beckon you to return time and time again.

Your Stay: Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain

Such Parisian details. A café, like a literary salon. A chic and lively table. A neighborhood life, between the Seine and the Café de Flore. An address. The Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain. A haute couture decor. A made-to-measure service. And the privilege of a spa where you can gently escape. Paris without compromise. Paris as the only promise. It is the promise of a new landmark. Between the Seine and the Café de Flore, Le Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain opened in spring 2022. A place that offers three entry keys: at number 1 is Les Parisiens, a chic bistro, entrusted to a Chef, at number 3 Le Bar James Joyce and at number 5, the luxury couture hotel & Spa.

Day Trips

During these days at leisure, some towns we highly recommend visiting around the Riviera are Ramatuelle and Gassin. Both are charming, medieval villages with beautiful views of the surrounding area. Additionally, Saint-Tropez is a picturesque fishing village not to be missed, along with some of the most popular beach clubs in Europe including Le Club 55, Bagatelle, and La Reserve a la Plage.

The best way to get to these towns is to have a rental car or a transfer. Additionally, we could also arrange a driver at your disposal with a sedan car.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore rising from the rooftops of Florence

In many ways, visiting Florence today feels like a trip directly into the Renaissance. The energy that inspired the likes of da Vinci and Michelangelo is still palpable, from the grandiose pink and green facade of the Duomo to an unembellished plate of Florentine steak with potatoes. It’s easy to get engrossed by the art and shopping in the historic center, but walk across the Ponte Vecchio to find Florence’s most authentic osterias and enotecas on the left bank of the river.

Originally placed beside Palazzo Vecchio, the city town hall, the statue was transferred to the Accademia from Piazza della Signoria in 1873. After delving into the history and artistic value of David, enjoy admiring the artist's famous unfinished statues - the Prisoners, St. Matthew and the Pieta.
