Restaurants

Take a break from touring the design stores of Bredgade for a meal at this neighborhood restaurant, favored by locals for its oysters and famous fried egg with pomme puree and truffles. If you’re not in the mood for a full meal, a draft beer and some fries at the bar make for a perfect pitstop.

Searching for comfort food?

Mother aims to bring out really good simple soul food. They combine the best seasonal ingredients with artisan products imported directly from Italy. The daily bread, sourdough pizza and roasted fish, meat, and vegetables are all made in the wood fire oven.

Searching for international food?

A 16-seat, family-run Taiwanese restaurant. Almost everything is homemade, including pillow-soft pork belly bao and classic ‘potstickers’ – fried dumplings that are steamed on the inside, crispy on the outside.

In the old Christianshavn area, you will find Donda. Placed in a delightful location with great views towards Toregade and Knippelsbro, a bridge over Copenhagen's canal. Donda is a Latin American eatery and bar that purveys fish, seafood and vegetables, prepared over charcoal and served "family-style".

🍸
Cocktail Recommendations

Copenhagen is full of hip, upscale, imaginative venues to enjoy day and night!
Here is some recommendations for the most noteworthy cocktail bars:

Their main product is whiskey and gin, which you can enjoy over a tasting; and if that is not your preference they offer a variety of traditional and specialty cocktails too!

An individual serves some of the city’s most creative cocktails at this basement bar located in the historic town center. A rotating series of themed menus highlights novel applications of ingredients like truffles and ice cream.
Accepts walk-ins

Drinks to die for at Ruby - a world-class cocktail bar by Copenhagen's canals. Despite its posh canal-side location and exclusive décor, Ruby has a relaxed, homey atmosphere, utterly devoid of pretention.

Brønnum is everything you could wish for in a cocktail bar - old-school, yet fashionable, casual, yet classy.

👀
Experiences

Copenhagen is full of excellent activities to do at your leisure, a few must-see's you may like to check out are:

  • Explore the Designmuseum featuring works of famous Danish designers like Arne Jacobsen, Jacob Jensen and Kaare Klint.
  • How about skiing? CopenHill is an urban, architectural marvel with a 1,300-foot ski slope, climbing wall and cafe which is great for an apres-ski beer!
  • Tivoli Gardens is a must! This famous amusement park combines manicured gardens and roller coasters in central Copenhagen and is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world!
  • Join leading researchers on behavioural psychology and happiness to explore what makes you smile at the The Happiness Museum.
👟
Neighborhoods of Copenhagen

There are many neighborhoods in Copenhagen, some residential, some full of students, some wealthier, and some poorer. This is a list of some we consider worth visiting!

  • Indre By

The inner city—which includes part of the medieval center. Home to most of the city’s historic sites, from Christiansborg (the parliament building made internationally famous by Borgen) to the candy-colored houses of Nyhavn, Indre By is also the most touristy part of Copenhagen, with the shopping street (Strøget) and bar street (Gothersgade) to show for it.
This area will be visited during a walking tour

  • Nørrebro

When guest workers started arriving in Copenhagen in the late 1960s, they found a home to the north of the lakes, in this area. Today, it remains the city’s most ethnically diverse neighborhood, as well as an artist and student hub.

All of the area around the leafy Assistens cemetery is hipster central these days, with the artisanal bakeries, inexpensive wine and cocktail bars (Vivant, Barking Dog, Pompette, Paloma), and park/artists installation Superkilen make the strip just east of the Nørrebrogade street an intriguing path to follow!

  • Østerbro

A posher neighborhood populated by diplomats and upper-class families, Østerbro, which lies to the east of Indre By, is home to gourmet delis, chic children’s clothing stores, and the city’s soccer stadium (topped by a restaurant with three Michelin stars, no less).

  • Freetown Christiania

Christiania was established in the 1970s, when a former military base on Christianshavn was occupied by a group of hippies. Best known for its Green Light District and the marijuana stalls of Pusher Street, it actually has much more to offer. There are creative bakeries, vegetarian restaurants, underground gig venues, and smoky jazz bars.

  • Vesterbro

Here you will find galleries, tattoo studios, chic restaurants, underground bars, and music venues. Vesterbro has earned the title of the hippest district in Copenhagen. For a long time, it was known as a working-class neighborhood, and even though today it is still home to the occasional seamy places, it’s now mostly popular for its trendy hostels, organic restaurants, and independent shops.

Travel Day

Enjoy a last morning in Copenhagen before heading to the airport for the second part of your trip!

✈️
Flight to Mallorca

Make your way to Copenhagen airport for your flight to Palma de Mallorca.
You need to be at the airport 2 hours prior to departure. We estimate that your departure from the hotel must be in the early morning.

  • We recommend sourcing a meal from the hotel or from inside of the terminal at the airport prior to the flight as options on board will be limited.
🍿
Entertainment

If you fancy watching some movies or TV Series to get you in the mood for your trip to Mallorca, check these out:

  • The hunt. Tramuntana

Filmed in Mallorca and currently in its second season, in which the Serra de Tramuntana centers the plot of this psychological ‘thriller’. A sergeant goes to the mountains of Mallorca to find out what happened to his partner. The sergeant had gone to the mountains days before to investigate a murder before three young people. It can be watched on Apple TV -trailer here.

  • The Mallorca files

Two detectives work hand in hand with the Palma police; together they will have to solve some of the strangest crimes in Mallorca. Within its development it is interesting to see how the agents will have to adapt to a culture that is not their own. A BBC series - trailer here.

🚗

Rest & Exploration

On your second day in Mallorca, we recommend you enjoy the morning by the hotel's infinity pool or find a secluded beach.
In the afternoon, use the hotel shuttle to explore the town, take a stroll, and enjoy a cocktail.

🏝️
Beach Recommendation
  • Cala Deia

From Port de Soller it is possible to hire a boat to Cala Deia, one of the most beautiful pebble beaches in Mallorca, with its crystal-clear waters between cliffs in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range.
If you desire to take a taxi there, the drive is about 30 minutes long and the taxi can be arranged via the hotel.

  • August is a very high season month in Mallorca, we recommend going to Cala Deia in the morning!

Looking for tunes?

Here is a playlist we have put together for you, for your lazy beach morning!

🕍
Explore Soller

Why not spend some time exploring the medieval town of Sóller where you can explore tiny streets filled with boutiques, bars and eateries. Indulge your taste buds at a local bistro to experience some "mar y montana" (sea and mountain) specialties.

You can arrange a transfer or taxi ride through your hotel's concierge or you can take the tram!

🚋
Take the historic tram Line!

If you plan on visiting Soller, why not arrive there in style?

Some cities in the world, such as Lisbon, San Francisco or Melbourne, are famous for their historic tramways still in circulation. The one in Sóller has a peculiarity that makes it special compared to other urban streetcars: it joins the mountain and sea in a half hour trip, from the valley in the heart of the Serra with the port and the beach.

It's a wooden 1900's style wagon, offering not only an experience back in time but some of the most beautiful views of the island.

Relax & Recharge

Another day devoted to rest and relaxation and wellness. Choose to explore another beach for the day or enjoy the hotel's spa, yoga class and pool.

🏝️
Cove Recommendation
  • Tuent cove

Cala Tuent is a more secluded beach, and its surroundings are worth a visit: surrounded by mountains and pine forests, its crystal clear waters and smooth pebbles add to its natural charm. If you intent to spend a full day, there is a local restaurant, Es Vergeret, serving Mallorcan cuisine. You can reach this beach either from Port de Soller, by boat or directly from your hotel by private transfer (approximately one and a quarter hours by taxi).

⚠️

I recommend asking the hotel to book a transfer for you for the ride to Cove Tuent, as the road leading to the beach is not in the best condition.

🏖️
Sandy & Serviced Beaches

Here is a few recommendations for beaches with amenities and sun beds to rent.

Here is the closest beach where you can rent beach lounges.

Sandy beach with chairs. If you do choose to go there we recommend a stop at Lluc Monastery on the way.

The best beach in Mallorca for white sand and lounges is Platja de Muro, towards Can Picafort. However this is about an hour away from Port de Soller.

Sandy and with beach lounges – about 40 minutes away.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, but about 1.5 hours away.

🧘‍♂️
Optional Yoga

From sunset yoga on the beach to asanas facing the monumental Tramontana mountains, yoga is a journey of awakening. For thousands of years the ancient art of yoga has been practiced to enhance the body’s strength, posture and alignment.
Enjoy an afternoon yoga class as part of this vacation in the idyllic setting of your hotel.

Dinner Recommendations in Palma de Mallorca

If you wish to taxi into the island's capital for a night, here are some dinner options we recommend.

Zaranda
Looking for haute cuisine on this trip? Zaranda has a lot to say and boasts 2 Michelin stars. This is not a meal, it's an experience.

Santosha
Santosha is the epitome of authentic rustic elegance. Housed in a charming century-old building in the heart of Palma, its menu brims with healthy dishes, such as roasted aubergine tacos with salad and homemade pickles. A must-try: their house-fermented ginger beer.
