Venice

Visit Venice the right way and you can’t help but fall in love. The majesty of San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge is drowned out by the crowds and tacky souvenir shops, but a more authentic and mysterious Venice is just outside of the tourist center. Put down your phone’s map and wander the labyrinthine alleyways, discovering the neighborhoods still lived in by locals with their artisan shops, low-key cicchetti bars, and cozy restaurants overlooking the canals.

🍹
Bacaro

When in Venice, enjoy a light lunch or snack at a bacaro—a traditional Venetian tavern known for its casual, cozy atmosphere. These spots serve a variety of small plates called cicchetti, similar to Spanish tapas, along with local wines and ombra (small glasses of wine). We recommend visiting one of the best bacari in Venice, Bacaro de Fior just a 5-minute walk from your hotel.

Here, you can try a Select Spritz, made with Select, a classic Venetian bitter aperitif created in 1920. Its more complex, herbal flavor gives a unique twist to the iconic Venetian aperitif.

Arrive at the hotel and settle in; the first afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure

Day 3: Onwards to Florence

In many ways, visiting Florence today feels like a trip directly into the Renaissance. It’s easy to get engrossed by the art and shopping in the historic center, but walk across the Ponte Vecchio to find Florence’s most authentic osterias and enotecas on the left bank of the river.

Restaurant Recommendations: Florence

A few of our favourite places to dine in Florence are:

  • Cibrèo has an informal, fashionable atmosphere.
  • Buca dell’Orafo offers traditional Tuscany dishes in a surrounding that reproduces the typical atmosphere of an ancient Florentine restaurant.
  • Trattoria Sostanza is famous for its cuisine, since 1869. The concept is to eat by sharing two long marble tables, sitting next to whoever happens.
  • Cammillo, the food here is deeply embedded in Florence’s culinary DNA as well as family-passed down traditions.
  • Regina Bistecca isn't a secret, nor is it tucked away in some off-the-beaten path alleyway in Florence. It is simply the city's premier spot to indulge in the city's iconic dish of bistecca alla Fiorentina.
  • Vini E Vecchi Sapori is a tiny, crowded and noisy traditional Florentine haunt that is the definition of rustic. The “No pizza, no cappuccino, no ice, no takeaway” notices say it all.
  • Zeb is a small, sleek, diner-style restaurant serving delicious traditional food on a changing menu in contemporary surroundings where a mother-and-son team prepare, serve, and pour wine.
  • Gurdulù, now under new management and a new chef have morphed this eaterie from a high-end gourmet restaurant into a deli/takeaway/eat-in hybrid. The sophisticated retro decor is still intact, but both the vibe and the menu choice are more relaxed these days.
  • Osteria dell'Enoteca is a contemporary space within the context of an ancient Oltrarno townhouse, offering seasonal Tuscan fare with a modern twist.

Amalfi Coast

While most of Italy is about sightseeing, there’s nothing to visit per se on the Amalfi Coast. Instead of lavish churches and ancient monuments, the rugged coastline is the sight, best enjoyed from a hilltop al fresco restaurant, the bow of a yacht, or inside your car while navigating one of the world’s most scenic drives. Amalfi is a luxurious destination with a humble past, where glitzy villas still intermingle with sleepy fishing villages and bucolic lemon orchards.

🍋
Restaurant Recommendations: Amalfi

A few of our favorite places to try are:

  • Remmese Restaurant is a seaside restaurant of the private beach club of the hotel, offering impeccable views and high-end cuisine.
  • Da Costantino is a fantastic option for great pizzas and amazing timeless Italian hospitality.
  • Donna Rosa is a restaurant created by two grand-daughters; Erika and Rosida who bring to visitors the art of cooking and love of hospitality, as taught to them by their loving nonna.
  • La Sponda is one for a special occasion. Surrender to the capable hands of Gennaro Russo for a true culinary journey through the Amalfi.
  • La Serra is a 1 Michelin-star restaurant which is a must-try during your visit.
Your Stay: Le Agavi

Why we love it for you: Sitting marvelously atop the cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea is Hotel Le Agavi. This chic property evokes feelings of the aquatic scenery below with its blue, white, and gold color palette. Rome

With an uncanny sense of foresight, Rome was first called the Eternal City 2,000 years ago. Even by today’s standards, it’s still grand in a way that few other places can compare to. The buildings are dilapidated and the roads disheveled, but chaos has never looked so exquisite. The cobblestone streets may be nonsensical, but a wrong turn always leads to an unexpected delight: an intimate piazza, a baroque fountain, or a homey trattoria serving house-made cacio e pepe.

Check into your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon in the Italian capital.

Restaurant Recommenadtions:

Here are some of our favourite restaurants in Rome:

  • Felice a Testaccio is a simple, family, trattoria-style atmosphere. Without a doubt, one of the standard-bearers of Latium cuisine.
  • Bistrot 64 boasts the attractive, informal decor of a bistro combined with surprisingly creative and imaginative cuisine.
  • Moi is a small and decidedly smart place. A chef cooks fresh seasonal ingredients with modern techniques, which can also change daily.
  • Prati Rione Gastronomico offers a varied menu ranging from bistro to pastry, from cocktail bar to bakery; as well as a pizzeria. Well-made cuisine - the choice is limited, but the quality is tantalizing!
  • Piccolo Buco is an exceptional pizzeria where you can choose from pizza Roma, spaghetti carbonara and exotic salami.
  • Taverna dello Spuntino has a particularly striking interior. From its old tufa passageways converted into a wine cellar in the basement, to its charming dining rooms with brick-vaulted arches where hams, flasks of wine, fruit and antipasti all form an attractive display.
  • Santa Palato is a trendy yet authentic local eaterie that is sure to impress.

Places to grab a drink
  • Jerry Thomas Speakeasy: A speakeasy in the truest sense (you'll need a password to get in!) with elevated cocktails in a moody, old-world bar with leather armchairs & a roaring '20s theme.
  • Magazzino Scipioni: An industrial wine bar steps from the Vatican City perfect for a night cap or mid-day pick me up!
