Non-stop waves, laid-back vibes and miles of sandy beach. Welcome to Nosara.
The jungle gets thicker, the potholes get deeper, and the roads become more untamed. Once in a while, you might have to wait for some monkeys to finish chasing each other before continuing on your way, but it's all worth it, to reach the hidden gem of Nosara, Costa Rica.
Surrounded by green, lush jungle, Nosara is a laid-back surfer town, dotted with restaurants, surf schools, boutique stores, juice spots, and coffee bars – what more could you want?
Surf your heart out, any time of the day. Playa Guiones' beach is a sandy 7km stretch, where you won't need to pack a wetsuit thanks to the year-round water temperatures of 27ºC. All you need is sun protection, rash guards, and your trusted board.
If you've only had a handful of lessons or even none at all, that's totally cool – Nosara welcomes surfers of every level. There are convenient breaks all along the stunning stretch of beach, with the mid-tide conditions that are ideal for beginners looking to perfect jumping up on the board and feel the adrenaline surge of surfing a wave.
If you want a bit more guidance, there are plenty of surf schools around too, and Origin's curators can recommend some amazing surf experts in town who can get you out on the waves in no time.
More experienced surfers can look forward to big swells during low tide that can be epic, with the cleanest waves – especially when the wind is offshore. Mid-tide is particularly great for those larger, faster waves for your short or longboard. And yes, the surf is up practically every day.
Away from the waves, there's plenty of things to do in and around town. There's an impressive density of yoga instructors, with several well-known yoga retreats all within the vicinity. Keep those muscles relaxed by taking on some gentle flows, yin, sound meditation, or restorative yoga classes at Bodhi Tree.
Want something with a bit more pace? Opt for some cardio kickboxing, muay Thai, primal flow yoga, or HIIT classes at Nalu Nosara.
Both offer daily classes, open to the wider community. Just drop in and keep the flow going.
In need of some protein after that surf session? The best fish tacos around are from the tiny food truck, conveniently located right next to the best coffee and brew place. Locally brewed beer from Olo Alaia in one hand, fish tacos with (or without) spicy sauce in the other. Just sit down and chill out after another day in paradise.
For the caffeine lovers out there, this is also where you'll find delicious iced coffees and lattes all day long.
Reach out to our curators now to get a serious surf and yoga adventure, curated especially for you.
