This isn’t a different planet, although no one would blame you for believing that since the landscapes of northern Chile’s Atacama Desert look like nothing from this world. Martian-red mountains and lunar salt flats dominate the arid terrain, where life thrives despite the extreme conditions (just look at ancestral settlements or grazing flamingos). But you’ll truly feel in the cosmos come nighttime when the sky lights up with far-off stars and galaxies.
Arrival at your luxury lodge, surrounded by spectacular rock formations. After settling into your accommodations, relax at leisure as you recuperate from your journey by the pool. We recommend rejuvenating spa treatments.
To make the most of its privileged position in the desert, Nayara Alto has installed the only open air observatory in the region. It sits atop one of the many hills near the hotel. There, six swivel chairs and a powerful telescope will enable guests to take in the intricacies of our universe with real clarity. Guests will also have the knowledge of one of the resort's expert guides to answer questions and give information on the long history of human astronomical discoveries.
Nayara Alto Atacama is right at home in the world’s driest desert. And you will be too once you get a glimpse of the resort’s luxury adobe rooms, tranquil cactus gardens, and Andean Mountain views. Dining choices are rooted in North Chilean staples and infused with modern cooking techniques, while the spa takes its cue from the ancestral elements of fire, water, earth, and air. Be sure to stop by the llama corral for a post-hike hello.

The capital of Chile, Santiago, is a bursting city nestled in a valley surrounded by the Andean foothills. Founded in 1541, Santiago is now a thriving metropolis dotted with fine eateries and top-class hotels. It is the only city in the world that offers skiing high up in the majestic Andes, followed a mere 90 minutes later by walks on the beach and surfing in the Pacific Ocean.
This is a stunning boutique bolthole in the heart of Santiago’s hippest district – Lastarria is also home to a pulsating array of cafés, bars, boutiques, art galleries and restaurants. It's the perfect mix of cosy interior design and a show-stopping rooftop pool and bar. All rooms feature king-sized beds, tactile fabrics and a soothing color scheme. This is the super-stylish city sibling of the wild and remote Singular Patagonia.

Commence your exploration of Santiago where it all began on Santa Lucía Hill. It was here that a conquistador planted
the Spanish flag in 1541 and the hill went on to play a pivotal role in the city’s history, making it the ideal place to discuss key historical moments and offer an introduction to Chilean society.
You'll then focus on Santiago’s expansion during the period of the New Republic with a walk around the colorful Barrio
Yungay. Yungay has a long history going back to the 1830s, the second area of Santiago to be urbanized. It is home
beautiful old buildings from that period and is today strongly linked to culture and the arts. It is also of great architectural interest, with several different types of dwelling, from the gran patronal houses to cités. Among its highlights are the monument to the Roto Chileno and the French Barber Shop, opened in 1968 by three French master hairdressers who attended the staff of the French consulate and residents of the neighborhood.

Torres del Paine National Park was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978 and is located within Chilean Patagonia, 150km to the north of Puerto Natales. The park consists of 242,000 hectares (the size of Luxembourg) and is renowned for the structure of its mountains, glaciers and lakes and the wide variety of its flora and fauna. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful park in the world.
Explora in Torres del Paine was designed as the perfect haven for exploring the region’s wondrous geography and wildlife. Besides the favored location inside Torres del Paine National Park, this lodge’s architecture was planned in a way that interferes the least possible with its natural surroundings. It is an extension of the territory.

At Explora Patagonia, the Andes mountains are your playground. Below are a few suggested activities, but you may read more about what's on offer here.
Travel through the eastern sector of the park combining stretches in a van with short walks. This sector is mainly characterized by the presence of animals such as guanacos, pumas and a diversity of birds, as well as its extensive pampas, typical of the Patagonian steppe. First, a visit to the Nordenskjöld Lake viewpoint and the Paine Grande waterfall will be made, then travel by van to the Los Cisnes Lagoon and finally to the Amarga Lagoon.
Visit the south-west area of the park, making various stops and short walks that will allow us to discover important landmarks in the history of Patagonia and the national park. Cross various ecosystems associated with higher humidity, such as the banks of the Serrano River or the Lenga and Ñirre forests. You will have the opportunity to see various types of waterfowl, while you make stops to observe the lake and Gray Glacier, share a tea and enjoy one of the best views of the Paine massif.
This walk amongst orchids and ñirres offers incredible views of Pehoé Lake, the Paine mountain range and the Paine River in the distance. Exit the main road following the shore of Pehoé Lake and ascend to the triangular rock marked on the map.
