Enjoy your afternoon and evening at leisure. Depending on your time of arrival and how you feel after your flight, you can do more or less of the following suggested activities:
1. Starting at the Rocks precinct, which is near Circular Quay, you could explore this historic area and then walk up to Observatory Hill. This might take around 30-40 minutes, depending on how much time you spend exploring.
2. From Observatory Hill, you can walk back down to the Rocks, and then to St Philip's, the first church in Australia. This is a short walk of about 5-10 minutes.
3. From there, you can continue walking around Circular Quay to the Opera House. This is a scenic walk of about 10-15 minutes.
4. From the Opera House, you can walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens to Mrs Macquarie's Chair, which is located at the water's edge. This would be about a 15-20 minute walk.
5. Afterward, the walk from Mrs Macquarie's Chair through Woolloomooloo and Kings Cross to Rushcutters Bay would be the longest stretch, taking about an hour.
Please note that these times are only approximate and could be much longer if you're planning to explore each area thoroughly. Also, while Sydney is generally pedestrian-friendly, make sure to stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes, especially considering the hot Australian summer. Check the local weather and conditions before you set out, and enjoy your walk!
