February might be the best time to visit New Zealand, Fiji and Australia. This is the middle of the southern hemisphere's summer when the days are long, bright and sunny and temperatures are pleasant. Day 1: Welcome to Queenstown

Upon landing, spend the day exploring Queenstown.

On arrival at Queenstown Airport, you will be met by a private driver and transferred to your accommodation (approximately a 30-minute journey).

Skyline Queenstown Gondola

Today marvel at the stunning views as you ride the Skyline Queenstown Gondola - the steepest cable car lift in the Southern Hemisphere, and one of the must-do activities in Queenstown! Sit back and relax as the views unfold before your eyes and the gondola carries you 450 metres above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu to the top of Bob's Peak. En route you will enjoy a spectacular 220 degree panorama, with breath taking views of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Walter Peak, Cecil Peak and over Queenstown.

Luge Cart Experience

On arrival the purpose built viewing platforms and outdoor terraces provide great photo opportunities. You can also enjoy a selection of other activities including scenic dining, nature walks, mountain bike trails and stargazing tours. Jump on your specialized luge cart, select your track, then take control as you zoom down the luge. Then catch the luge chairlift back to the start zone and do it all over again - once is never enough! Enjoy 3 luge rides before continuing down to Queenstown on the gondola at your leisure.

The rest of the evening has been left for you to relax and explore at your own pace.

Day 2: Glaciers!

Today, head to the skies for a private helicopter flight over Milford Sound, one of the most beautiful sights on South Island!

Today you will be met at your accommodation by a private driver and vehicle for transfer to Queenstown Airport (approximately a 30 minute journey) to meet your private helicopter for a scenic flight over spectacular Milford Sound.

At Milford Sound you will enjoy a relaxing cruise. You will experience the stunning mountain scenery, waterfalls, and unique wildlife from the comfort of your vessel. (Please note that the cruise is on a shared basis).

Helicopter Ride

Following your cruise, reboard your helicopter and enjoy a remote alpine landing, enjoy the amazing views of the glaciers with their many crevasses and blue and green ice falls. You will be returned to your accommodation on the conclusion of your excursion (approximately 4 hours).

Return to Queenstown, with the rest of the afternoon free for relaxation and independent exploration.

Day 3: Exploring the countryside

Today is all about getting out of the city and exploring the countryside.

Today you will be met at your accommodation by a private guide and vehicle to enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of the Queenstown region. You will travel into the heartland of the Wakatipu Basin where you will enjoy the beauty of Lake Hayes.

Arrowtown

Continue on to the historic gold mining town of Arrowtown where you will have the opportunity to visit the Lakes District Museum. Take a short drive to Kawarau Bungy Bridge – home of Bungy jumping – then marvel at the dramatic Kawarau River Gorge as you drive through mountains, vines, farmland, and fruit fields.

Wanaka

Stop at one of Bannockburn’s wineries to enjoy lunch (no alcohol). After lunch, enjoy a relaxing and scenic drive to Wanaka, where you can explore the area, view the World War 2 aircraft collection, or visit Puzzling World. Return to Queenstown via the Cardrona Valley (approximately 8.5 hours).

Return to Queenstown, and the rest of the evening is free for you to explore.

Day 4: Stargazing in Ahuriri Valley

Today, head to Mount Cook and nestle yourselves in the mountains for a night of celestial wonder.

You will be met at your accommodation by a private driver and vehicle for your scenic transfer to Aoraki - Mount Cook via the MacKenzie Country and the Lindis Pass (approximately a 3 hour 30 minute journey).

Settle into your hotel and enjoy the facilities before an evening of cosmic discovery.

Ahuriri by Night

Experience the Ahuriri by Night! Dark, clear skies; unique celestial features and otherworldly landscapes make stargazing in New Zealand a breathtakingly magical experience. In the heart of the South Island, the sky is so clear and vast that millions of stars seem to appear right before your eyes. The clear skies found in this part of the world are like nothing else in New Zealand. With very limited light pollution within the Ahuriri Valley, the views of the night sky seem to stretch on as far as the eye can see. Where you are located on the Earth determines which constellations are in your sky. The Lindis offers a magical experience where you will head outside into the night sky and using a star map you will be able to learn about the stars you can see in the night sky, while using the app to find stars & constellations in our sky. Your guide will show you some basic photography techniques advising how to take your own star gazing images, or you may choose to simply enjoy the experience and have a one of a kind photograph taken of you under the New Zealand night sky (approximately 3 to 5 hours).

Day 5: Rest day in the Ahuriri Valley

Today has been left for you to enjoy the day relaxing or exploring.

Things to do today

Whilst at leisure at The Lindis Lodge, we recommend the following optional local experiences:

  • Take advantage of one of the top ten fly fishing locations in the world, just a short stroll from the lodge
  • Explore the rugged countryside on horseback or mountain bike
  • Hike over 49,000 hectares through the surrounding wetlands, forests, tussock and alpine countryside. Guides are available
  • Get off road and dirty, exploring the region by 4WD buggy
  • Partake in the nightly excursion outdoors to map the stars, constellations and planets, all gloriously viewable by the naked eye in this International Dark Sky Reserve
  • Study the unique flora and fauna of the area with an ecological guide
  • Further afield, travel to the azure blue lakes of Pukaki or Tekapo, or head to Aoraki Mount Cook to experience amazing hiking, cruise the glacier filled Lake Tasman, or fly to a remote glacier for a walk across the icy landscape

Day 6: Onwards to Christchurch

Today, leave the mountains and drive through the scenic Mackenzie Country to reach Christchurch.

Continue through the amazing Mackenzie Country today, a region bordered by the soaring Southern Alps and studded with beautiful lakes. Then descend onto the Canterbury Plains, New Zealand’s largest farming region and take the Inland Scenic Route through small farming towns before arriving in New Zealand’s second largest city.

Day 7: Exploring Christchurch

You will learn about this English influenced city and how it is rebuilding from the challenges of the earthquakes. You will visit the Botanic Gardens, the Transitional Cathedral and other compelling architecture rising in the city. Highlights will include visiting central Christchurch, as well as the opportunity to see some of Christchurch’s wonderful parks, galleries, beaches and buildings (approximately a 6 hour 30 minute duration).

Day 8: Onwards to Paradise!

Today, leave New Zealand and head to the paradise islands of Fiji!

On arrival at Fiji International Airport you will be met by a representative who will assist you in connecting on to your shared helicopter transfer from Nadi Airport to Likuliku Island (approximately a 20 minute journey).

Here, in the middle of the Mamanuca archipelago, is Fiji's luxury escape just for couples.

There are only 45 bures - 10 of Fiji’s first overwater bungalows and 35 along the beachfront with daybed retreats and some with private plunge pools, but all with stunning lagoon and ocean views.

Day 21: Exploring Brisbane

This morning you will be met at your accommodation by a guide and vehicle to embark on a full day of touring.

Guided tour of Brisbane

First you will receive an overview of Brisbane and its wonderful riverside parklands, winding river and unique Queenslander architecture, learning how the city evolved from its beginnings to the lifestyle capital that it is today!

You will then proceed to Lone Pine Sanctuary where you will get the chance to hand-feed kangaroos and see over 100 koalas and hundreds of other unique Australian wildlife in the world’s oldest and largest koala sanctuary.

Next stop is the Mount Coot-tha Lookout which affords stunning views over Brisbane and out to the islands, before continuing to Tamborine Mountain, Brisbane’s mountain hideaway covered in lush
rainforest where the air is clear and the views spectacular.

You will enjoy a guided eco-walk through the rainforest including the Skywalk treetops walk and passing the beautiful Curtis Falls before breaking for a wonderful gourmet lunch.

You will then return to Brisbane, stopping en route for dinner before attending the Harry Potter concert at Brisbane Convention Centre.
