Stockholm

The capital of the Nordics!

On one side it is a modern city with an interesting history, trend-setting restaurants and vibrant nightclubs. Right next to that, you have the tranquillity
of the idyllic archipelago with open spaces, silence and fantastic nature.

Even if Stockholm is the largest city in the Nordics, with a population of about one million people, it is still relatively small and you can walk almost everywhere.

Stockholm is built on islands and you are never far away from the water with ferries that can take you further out into the fantastic archipelago if you like.

🍋
Dinning Recommendations:

Here are some of our favourite dining recommendations in Stockholm:

  • Frantzen (3 Michelin Stars): A unique restaurant set over 3 floors of a 19C property; ring the doorbell, enjoy an aperitif in the living room. Cooking is modern and creative but also uses classic techniques.
  • Aloë (2 Michelin Stars): Two talented chefs run this warm, welcoming restaurant, which is located in a former shop in the city suburbs. Enjoy snacks in the lounge before taking your seat at one of the communal tables.
  • Operakällaren (1 Michelin Star): Sweden's most opulent restaurant sits within the historic Opera House, and the stunning, high-ceilinged room boasts chandeliers and original gilt paneling decorated with frescoes and carvings. Carefully constructed traditional French dishes come with a contemporary touch.
  • Lilla Ego: Still one of the hottest tickets in town, Lilla Ego comes with a pared-down look and a buzzy vibe; if you haven’t booked, try for a counter seat.
  • Sushi Sho: With its white tiled walls and compact counter seating, the room couldn’t be simpler; the food, by contrast, is sublime. Meals are served omakase-style, with the chef deciding what’s best each day and dishes arriving as they’re ready. Top quality seafood from local waters features alongside some great egg recipes.
  • Nisch: The modern Nordic set menu changes every few weeks and the interesting wine list is mainly organic and biodynamic.
  • Fotografiska: The fundamental principle of Fotografiska’s food and drink philosophy, developed by our legendary culinary creator and his team, is to create unique taste sensations while simultaneously increasing awareness about sustainability. The seasonal cuisine from the organic, plant-based kitchen maximizes enjoyment and flavor by making use of every part of the ingredients. Some dishes have a traditional bent, but they always have an edge.
  • Woodstockholm: A place where flavors and meetings are created without regard to traditional boundaries. Chef and his team work with a dynamic menu that changes regularly.
  • Bar Agrikultur: A place that reaches beyond the boundaries of culinary tradition, while honoring food, flavor, sustainability and community. We welcome our guests to enjoy the seasonal Swedish produce and our favorite Gin in a warm and social atmosphere.

Please let us know if you'd like reservations made at either of these restaurants. All reservations are subject to availability.

Your Stay: Grand Hotel Stockholm

Why we love it for you: Nestled directly across from the Royal Palace and Strömkajen harbor, Grand Hotel boasts an ideal central location in Stockholm. The vicinity offers world-class attractions like The Modern Museum, upscale shopping in the fashion district Bibliotekstan, and scenic strolls across the city's numerous bridges. The Grand Hôtel in Stockholm has been home to celebrities, high-profile events and everyday bon-vivants since 1874, and was the spot where the very first Nobel banquet took place there in 1901.
