Summer in the Dolomites

Everyone is more or less familiar with Italian culture, from watching movies, learning about the Roman Empire, or simply eating pizza. But not until you arrive in the country do you realize that everything you thought you knew is really just the tip of an enormous iceberg. Every region—every town even—has a unique personality, so no matter how many times you visit Italy, you’re always left with the craving for more.

As you’re enjoying a plate of the fusion cuisine, know that all of the ingredients were likely gathered within walking distance of your table.

Sunset Over the Peaks

One of the most peculiar features of these mountains is the incredible color they get in the evening: the Enrosadira, or Alpenglow, is an optical phenomenon that, at the end of sunny days, gives the Dolomites an incredible color palette, from pink to orange to purple.
