Pompeii was a thriving citadelle in the reigning years of the Roman empire. A center for commerce, trade, art and science. In a catastrophic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D it was buried under ash and pumice, thus preserving it to an impressive extend.

Legend has it that gods came down from heaven to the Path in order to reach the sea. In fact, the path was given its title by an Italian historian and politician in the mid-1800s, inspired by the gorgeous views of shimmering waters and the island of Capri that hikers can enjoy. This spectacular scenery is one not be missed if you are spending time on the Amalfi Coast, it is a one-way 3.7-mile guided hike, and it is easy to see why the Gods may have fallen in love with it.
